Juan Ma Del Pony, get a life! Del Potro ain't gonna give you any of his prize money, so why bother? Unless Federer lost a match in the past where you bet heaps of money on... your hatred is just childish.

Yeah his contract ends with Basel today and it isnt on his proposed schedule for next year thats why he said "hopefully"

Good win by JMDP. I watched the third set and it didn't come across as a high quality match. Although Fed had some winners off it, his BH was awful, he had to shorten his swing and couldn't trust it. So deserved outcome for both players.

I need to know how he feels about the outcome of this match.

Im a neutral tennisfan. I TRY to live in the moment.

after bandwagon means nothing to me.

Delpo did well to overcome his demons, as he is too good of a player not to win sometimes against these kind of players. Well done.

To be fair, Nadal turns every match into a grindfest, regardless of the opponent. :)

Except when he's playing Rosol ofcourse.

Amen to that. :)

Good for Delpo. I was a bit disappointed to get back and see that Fed had lost, but it's alright.

Story of Nadal's life.

Story of Nadal's life:

Most dominant player at a slam EVER (52 wins out of 53 matches at Roland Garros), and only dropped ONE set in his 7th Roland Garros title (despite needing painkillers to take the court).

Only player to win Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open on clay, grass and hardcourt in the same year.

Owns Federer for life. Nadal leads Federer 8-2 at slams, and has won their last 5, including 2 at Australia.

Lost to Rosol at Wimbledon 2nd Round, but nowhere near as bad as losing in the 1st Round of Wimbledon THREE times (as Federer did).

On a related note, Race is basically over. There are 2500 points left to win in the season and Novak is ahead by 2000. It's been a nice year in that each of the top 4 players got a few nice prizes. Novak gets the YE#1 ranking, but he was shut out at the Olympics.

And of all the 4 slam winners, Djokovic came the closest to losing his slam title. Almost a slamless year for him, and a sign of things to come.

Gave me a good laugh there. Impossible to spin this one in your favor. Nadal's humiliating, potentially career-ending loss came in his prime after making 8 finals out of the 9 previous slams. Federer's losses were when he was nary a fraction of the player that went on to win a record 17 slams. But I don't need to remind you about that remarkable feat.

"It's amazing for me," Del Potro, who never dropped serve, said in an on-court interview. "Always, playing against Roger is a pleasure. We know he's the best player ever in this sport."

This guy better win a few more slams.

Don't worry, I used to sometimes hit the ground before the net on my serve before I learned the proper technique. One day, Nadal will be as good as I am.

Congratulations to Del Potro for finally battling his way through and winning against Federer. He was getting closer and closer with each match, and after so many heart breaking losses, especially that silver medal match in London, it was nice to see him finally come through against his great rival.

There is so much respect there between these two, you can see the genuine appreciation that they have for each other. Sad for Roger, but Juan Martin had to have his day, and today was it, and well deserved too.

I am sure Roger will bounce back. He has had a long year, and it has got to take its toll. I'm hoping that both players get to bring that magic they have when they play each other into more big matches.

And after reading this thread....wow, Juan Martin really does have a very sad sad supporter here. :( A class act like him deserves better.

********* acting like a good guy "You had a couple of tough losses against me this year, so you deserve this one"...pathetic! You're not God, and you certainly don't hand wins to other players...just STFU and go put your wife on a Jenny Craig plan you PotatoHead....

Couple more inches and Juan could have retired The Fraud permanently, from tennis AND from "servicing" fat Mirka....shame, really.

Oh well, 2013 should be a good year, hopefully many more losses in store for The Fraud against Djoker, Nadal, and Moaning Murray! AHAHAHAHHA!!

Enjoy your Sunday folks, I certainly will!

Wow. Even insulting Federer's wife. That's low and pathetic.

When you were first on here I thought you were a decent poster but you're easiliy one of the nastiest, petty, butt hurt unpleasant posters on here. At least nadalwon/nsk/bullziller etc is a bit funny, you just come off as an idiot calling 17 times slam winners frauds and mocking them because at 31 they're going to lose a bit to Nadal/Djokovic?Murray when your own favourite in his prime can't buy a win vs them.

What makes it worse is you're always going on about how nasty fed fans are. Total hypocrite. Enjoy your life  Must hurt that even a 31 year old "fraud" has as many slam wins this year as your boy does in his career and possibly ever.
