I agree 100%. The claim here is NOT that Novak is the favorite for RG, but that he is the favorite against Nadal.
Novak will likely lose before the French Open final, if he doesn't pick up his game. But if he gets to the final, he will present an insurmountable challenge for Nadal.

He is not the favourite against Nadal at RG. If he was he would be the favourite to win RG, but he's not.

He has the mental edge right now I'll give that to him, but the mental edge only takes you so far against Nadal on clay. We've seen better versions of Djokovic lose to Nadal on clay. At the end of the day you actually need to play unbelievably well for 4-5 hrs to beat Nadal at RG, and not even Djokovic has proven able to do that, with the possible exception of 2013, considering 2015 Nadal was a joke.

You’re saying he will likely lose before the finale but you’re also saying he has a 60-70% chance of making it to the finale. I don’t get it.

Nadal obviously has more than a chance. I'm just saying Novak would have an edge if he gets to Nadal in the RG final. Of course, Novak could lose early, in which case it is #12 for Rafa.
Djokovic has no chance against Nadal on clay this year. At this rate he'll do well to even reach the second week at RG.

Except the French Open. Where if Novak gets to the final, Nadal doesn't win.

Reason: Novak is unbeatable at slams and invincible especially against Nadal at slams. I would be surprised if Nadal ever beats Novak in a 5 set match for the rest of their careers. The surface doesn't matter.

As many on here have said, this post is so stupid that it's honestly tough to respond to.

No, I would've bet on Medvedev though but a small amount.

Pretty mad at myself because I had a strong feeling that Medvedev would beat Tsitsipas and Pella would beat Cilic, there were some good odds.
I'd be watching Coric like a hawk today. I'd give him a chance with Nadal.

Novak could have picked up so many points from these Master's tournaments and he hasn't.
I think that's what's frustrated me the most recently. Such a great opportunity these last few tournaments to really extend his lead in the rankings and he's p1ssing it up the wall. Grrrrr.

He's defending 7600 after clay and will most likely lose points so not gaining much here is bad

Yes, this is the problem. I wouldn't worry too much about Nadal on clay. He will probably defend his points or come reasonably close to it. But Novak needs to turn it around soon if he wants to remain #1 for as long as many of us had predicted before this season, considering he was defending nothing in the first half.

Coric displayed pathetic body language, even though he won the first set 6-1 and had all the momentum. His whole demeanor in the third set was defeatist and negative. Even Mary Carillo said, "Coric needs to man up here, he's only down one break."

A rusty Djokovic reached the QF last year:whistle:
The way things are going if he can defend his points from last year I'll be content with that. Anyway I hope everything is alright with you my sweet. :) Not chatted to you for a while so I just thought I'd say hi and that hopefully the weather where you live is as nice as it is in Manchester at the moment. ;)

Bummer that we won't be getting a Rafa-Novak final on Sunday! :(

On the plus side for Djokovic, he's been steadily improving with each Masters event this year: IW 3rd round, Miami 4th round, Monte Carlo quarter-final. At this rate he should make at least the final of Rome and definitely win Canada.
