Rafa had him though. He opened the door after he had that break in the 3rd. You have to keep your foot on Medvedev's neck because if you don't...He was tough for Novak to put away in AO too. He's very tough on hardcourt.

Nadal has to hit BIGGER and be more AGGRESSIVE. That is the only way. I don't think Nadal can actually do that unfortunately.

Yea he hasn't been nearly aggressive enough but he was getting away with it and was up 2 sets to love. Medvedev has gotten hot now so Nadal has no choice but the step up the aggression now.

His 1st serve return, especially on the ad side (all Rafa is doing is swinging it wide 95% of the time), is a bit too inconsistent to apply enough pressure and maybe force a break. Rafa has been countering that return position brilliantly mind you.
