Maybe a blessing in disguise that my laptop wouldn't play a stream then. Murray matches are usually very stressful.

I've had to go out, I've just got back in. What was the final score?

And did Murrays level improve?

edit: reading back showed me the score. 6-2 in the second sounds good.

This poor Murray fan doesn't have a hair left on his head

30 career titles does sound good. I knew adding 250's would be a good thing.
I wish he had played the grass 250 that follows Wimbledon as well.

I think having to scramble in 250s to just get to the WTF has been a good wake-up call for Murray. He's now in a good place for the end of year and in the first few months of next year until his FO semi final points defence.

I see him passing at least 40 career titles before his playing days are up.

The Muzz was broken like 65 times in the match. Ferrer was serving for the match at 5-3 before Murray won 4 games in a row.

Lol...impressive statistic considering there were only 32 games played!

Seriously, I do wish Andy would get a decent service rhythm going and not keep surrendering vital breaks of serve as he's been doing all friggin' year!

Quibbles apart, he came through, restored the balance of power against Ferrer after the drubbing he got from him in Shanghai and landed his 30th title! He has now won 2 titles, beaten a top 5 player for the first time this year, and got closer to the goal of qualifying for the O2. He may do it the hard way but, all in all, not a bad day's work. Congratulations, Andy! :)

I'm a really good badminton player. Sometimes though I will have a bad day and be really off form and playing well below my best. On those nights I play for as long as possible in as many matches as possible as I figure its still increasing experience (I've played my whole life several nights a week) and my mind will "autocorrect" me back to good form.

Usually the next time i play I am well and truly back to my best. I'm hoping 6 weeks of continous play will have the same effect for Murray and he will "play himself into form" before his miami training block.

(As well as give him a top 8 ranking ahead of the Australian Open)

I wonder if he'll take heed, and decide to enter a few clay 250s next year?

I'm a bit worried about Ferrer. A tough loss, physically and psychologically. At least he's got a home tournament up next, to lick his wounds, but he really wanted to win today.

We just witnessed two consistently top ten great ATP players battle for a 250 title. Nobody on this forum should ever complain about top WTA players not being able to hold serve. LOL

I meant to ask- has Murray now qualified for the WTF or does he still require a few more points?

Not yet. There's still less than 200 points between him and Ferrer and Raonic so he needs to keep amassing as many as he can at the expense of his nearest 2 rivals. All 3 are playing next week and in Paris so there are still many points to be gained.
