All I know is that at Rotterdam 2018 this guy rocked Stan Wawrinka in 3 sets. Crowd was epic (for that tournament). I didn’t see that match personally but I then saw him get bagelled by Haase in the next round, lol.

Djoker missed Montreal and Cinci, so he’s using the first couple of rounds to scrape off the rust. That’s why he dropped the 2nd set yesterday. However, I don’t think he’ll drop a set today, even though he’s still a little rusty. I’ll say 6-2, 7-5, 6-1 Djoker here. And by week 2, he will be clicking on all 8 cylinders. It will be extremely exciting when he gets to the quarters. That’s when the pressure will be incredible.

It was a well played match featuring the WC home player vs a veteran on the mend. Stanimal had less than 10 matches played on his surgically repaired knee so he wasn’t at his best for the second half of the match. Griekspoor took advantage and stepped up.

It wasn’t too surprising that Haase jumped on his less experienced countryman. Mercurial Robin was zoning that week vs his countrymen, clearing out Thiemo De Bakker very easily in 1R too. He may even have surfed the home crowd energy to take a set off fedr in the QFs before getting double breadsticked by SexiSwissBaker. It was a great week for Dutch tennis.

Thursday.

Djokovic needs to shake off the rust. Hopefully he starts finding his rhythm more with his groundies and serve. I expect another tricky one but hopefully Novak pulls through comfortably and makes less errors.

Mat has been practicing with Djoker.
Seems they are practice bros.
Be interesting to watch Berr's progress.
Hope he takes over wimbledon from Noler.
I like Berra. He’s a nice guy and got a fun game to watch. Yeah Novak and Berra get on great which is nice to see. Total respect between the 2 guys. He certainly has the game to win Wimbledon once Novak slows down.

I thought you were StrongRuling yesterday lol, but have to agree with this assessment. He looked legitimately bad for a fair amount of that 2nd set.

BH, especially BHDTL is being hit with almost no power and in general he just looks lethargic. Zverev in comparison legitimately looked much better.

Of course this is all immaterial until the QFs mostly, and I think in any scenario Djokovic is going to have to win ugly. Still just using the eye test this is not a man who's ready to dominate the US Open.

Yeah I decided to strongRule just for one match lol

Overall though Novak is not at his best yet which is expected. He’s not played for a month so it’s not surprising the timing of the strokes and serve was off. I’m sure he will improve each round but these early rounds are dangerous for him if he’s out of his rhythm.

Still he should get best his next opponent but again a set or 2 could be a struggle until he finds his range and consistency. The good news is it’s early in the tournament and he still had time to find his game before the better opponents arrive.

Tallon supposedly hit 149 mph in this previous round, alongside 30 aces. Only 3 mph slower than Roddick's 152 here at the USO in 04.

This new Djokovic serve would be unfair if it didn't disappear for large portions of every match and if he didn't double fault quite often.

So can Hublot help Djokovic enter the GOAT debate?

It's funny that this guy actually believes that he's playing against a legend of the game.
