Congrats to Cilic, great play!

As for Berdych, herewith about the definition of Good Bloody Riddance. Bu-bye and don't forget to post your feelings on twitter,

Berdych is out?? Dammit, I missed this just so I could watch Obama drive past me in a car :(

No hard feeling Berdy, you're just a bit of a nightmare for Fed these days in Bo5.

Djokovic and Federer are 6-6 in slams:

Fed: AO '07, FO '11, WO '12, USO '07, '08, '09
Djokovic: AO '08, '11, FO '12, WO '14, USO '10, '11

Djokovic fans are too much. Can't even get basic facts straight =/

Since beating him in the final of Rotterdam at the start of the year, Berdych has now lost in straight sets to Cilic at the last 2 Slams (3rd round Wimbledon and quarter-final of USO). That's some revenge for the in-form Croat!

Cilic now makes his 2nd ever Slam semi-final (1st was more than 4 and a half years ago at 2010 AO ).

Such a tough draw for Federer. Matosevic, Groth, Granollers, Bautista Agut . Then to top it all off, Monfils and Cilic. Is the world against Federer these days?

Damn! These Bulzilla/NadalRecord doppelgangers keep crawling out of the woodwork every couple of months:shock:

The match was never on Berdych's raquet. Just look at the stats. Cilic had more errors in the match, and 3 times as many in the 3rd set. He still won in straight sets.

Nishi atleast beat Stanimal who sometimes plays besat mode tennis. Now GTFO

Yeah Nishkori did beat Stan but he going to be as **** against Novak as Cilic against Fed.

It okay if Djokodal have easy paths but not Federer. Stupid Nadal/Djokovic fans.

Cilic is actually a real threat to Federer in the form he showed today. I would give him atleast a 40% shot if that is the semifinal.

Nishikori has a 0.4% chance to beat Djokovic, all things considered.

It's actually funny how even the draws turned out. It'd say Nishikori and Cilic are around even. Kohlschreiber and Bautista likewise.

Only round Novak had harder than Fed was QF, but to date the only top 20 players Murray has beaten this year are Tsonga, Isner, and Anderson so I don't know how much better he is than Monfils right now.

IMO a very fesh and confident Cilic is far more dangerous than a fatigued grinder like Nishikori, who has no weapons to beat a top player who doesnt self destruct even if he were fresh (and I like Nishikori alot but lets be real).

biggest change in cilic is his serve. it has turned into big a weapon. far more 1st serves going in. hitting spots. very good second serve kicker. he also defends better than he used to. he's using the slice more. and is mentally stronger.

2 straight beatdown by Cilic. That will be demoralizing for Berdych.

It cannot get anymore easier for Fed now!

I dont understand how people can watch a match like today and somehow conclude Federer is getting the "weaker" opponent. Cilic and Berdych are both predominantly just ball bashers and Cilic is a much better and more powerful one these days than Berdych is, with a much better serve, and better movement. That is obvious.

cilic is in better form than berdych. I don't think fed is relieved to see him there in the semis.

If he keeps it together mentally, Cilic is one of the best players in the world and I'd agree. But I expect Nishikori to hold it together mentally better than Cilic in a big match like this.

Federer in 2010 was hardly in his prime

I agree. IMO the end of Federer's prime was the 2010 Australian Open, and the end of his peak was the 2007 Australian Open. I just meant relative to Djokovic he was still closer, as 2010 was the worst year of tennis of Djokovic's career of the whole 2007-2014 period (and we will probably be saying the whole 2007-2018 or longer years from now). Then 2008 and 2009 go without saying, especialy 2009.

OK I see your point. However Cilic should be the one holding it together in a match like this as he is far more experienced than Nishikori still at this point. He has a pretty weak mentality if he cant.

BTW I am not predicting Cilic to make the final, I just see him, atleast game wise and freshness wise, a bigger threat than Nishikori (even if Djokovic wasn't a harder opponent than Federer ATM, which he is anyway).

Ahhhh, always great when Bird Brain goes down. Of the players on the men's side that I don't like-the entire Spanish Armada, especially you-know-who, Murray, and Bird Brain, they're all gone. Maybe Bird Brain will head home and gush about Nadal's comeback.

Seeing Cilic clean Berdych's clock like this was one of the most satisfying matches I've seen in ages. I rate Cilic a lot, he should have achievement more by now and hopefully this is the start of a good run for him.
