90 % of RAFA's groundies are falling short around the service line,,,, what is wrong with this picture ?? even the Fans are trying to save RAFA this set

Rafa has a good strategy when he goes high topspin short angle to Diego's backhand. Diego's height forces him to hit that shot with less topspin and it is going into the net or long more often than not. Rafa needs to keep pressure on Diego by setting up this play more.

Nadal is looking completely horrible this match. This is a huge upset in the making. Nadal was already rather lacklustre in his match against Marterer, and now, faced with an opponent who has given him tough competition in the past, this is turning into an uphill battle for Nadal.

Rain to continue for another 30 minutes.

Nadal saved by yet another rain delay? It rains every time he's losing this season. Let's him resy and get coached while disrupting the other players momentum
You can't play when it rains and there is no roof. Are you suggesting tennis should be played right now under the rain in Chartrier?

Haha no I'm just saying Nadal is really lucky. Look at the other matches this year that were stopped the second the opponent was heading to a victory with serious momentum.

After all the times Nadal has been hurt by bad luck (injuries) a little of good luck is only fair.

I think all his injuries are a result of his style of play not bad luck.

Bad luck injuries are like a player twisting their ankle mid match and having to retire or like when goffin got hit in the eye when his volley shank deflected Dimitrov passing shot at full speed into his own face. I don't recall Nadal having any bad luck injuries besides tearing his abdominals during USO 09 SF against Delpo.

Injuries are inevitable with Nadal's playing style. Nothing to do with luck.

Neither was today's second set change around though, to be fair. Swartzman just couldn't handle a delay. He was literally hitting UE after UE. Bad news for him though, good for Nadal.

It's bad luck he is not as flexible as Djokovic or as resilient as Federer. At least he is not Nishi.

Nadal did not play well and was treated twice for an apparent injury to his underarm/obliques. He wasn't serving well either.

Look at the match stats:

https://www.flashscore.com/match/8bBIBYcN/#match-statistics;0

8 winners to 23 unforced errors for Rafa
29 winners to 39 unforced errors for Sweaty Diego

What are the chances of Nadal pulling some stunt tomorrow to disrupt Schwartzman? I don't trust Team Nadal at all.

"was treated twice for an apparent injury to his underarm/obliques. He wasn't serving well either. "

Is this the end ? is this the end of the King of clay ???????? even if he wins this match,, won't this be a problem against Thiem or Delpo ?

He retired in his match against Cilic as this year's Aus Open and now he possibly has developed another problem. He's getting older and the body perhaps isn't as resilient as it once was. The way Nadal plays the game takes a bigger toll on the body than say Federer's way of playing.

if Rafa does that same stupid NO pace, No depth game he did in 1st set against ,, Delpo or Thiem,, he is going down. Inject his arm with massive doses of steroids before the match to just to get him thru the French open... Who cares if his arm falls off afterwards !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People talking about Diego doinating Rafa but, besides winners stats, other % stats suggest no ones dominating.

Particularly, 2nd serve winning % of Diego was horribly low (although Nadal's also low).
Normally you can not win a match with these sorts of stats.

So What are the chances of RAFA winning in straight 3 more sets ??? Will RAFA come out on Fire or will he come out like he did today, hitting nerf balls for Diego to eat up
