Thiem being in Nadal's or Djokovic's draw will be a key factor and if he makes it to the SF. He would lose against either but well capable of tiring one of them out for the final.

this is a silly question, I know that the entire stadium/court had been redone to prep for the roof next year, will that influence how its played this year?

also i already anticipate court assignment drama like every year, especially now that federer is scheduled to return even though the people making a fuss are usually on their couches and can see the matches regardless of court assignment

1. Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Thiem
4. Tsitsipas
5. Federer

Federer knows he can win a Grand Slam which is why he has better chances than i.e. Zverev, Khachanov. Tsitsipas can play very good and has proven he is not too bad at slams. Thiem last 3 results have been SF, SF, F losing to the champion. Nadal has only played one tournament out of 4 that indicates he is the favourite. Djokovic plays better at slams than masters and has gotten a runner-up and champion in the last 2 masters.

I would flip novak and nadal. Maybe if he didn't get to the final of rome and won, I might have put him behind nole, but as it stands they both have 1 masters, but rafa also goes in defending champion, having only actually lost twice. Nadal is also in general better than the field on clay, so even if he isn't on his A game, he is more than likely to get by. Novak though, if he blinks, I can see someone taking a set off of him on his way to the final and between the two, he is more likely to get beaten by someone else imo.

The actual court of Philippe Chatrier remains untouched. It’s said that the curved corners of the new stands change the acoustics, but until the roof is installed next year, the atmosphere of the stadium may not be too different. A journo asked Nadal about this in his presser after the Rome final, and he semed OK with it, as it was “still open”. It looks that way from photos of the inside. From pics of the outside, I don’t like the design of the new building; the original had real character whereas the new one looks very bland and generic to me.

I’ve been trying to figure out the status of the new court, Simonne Mathieu, or the “Greenhouse Court” . It would appear that it’s the third court, after Suzanne Lenglen, but I could be wrong. I expected it to be the second court, as it has a roof. The top players are usually scheduled to play one match on Lenglen so maybe that stays the same.. unless it rains?

Hey guys! Good to be back. Looking forward to this. Not really rooting for any one player in particular. I'm behind Federer, FAA, Shapovalov and Thiem, but it would also be neat to see Djokovic win his 2nd FO title AND hold all 4 Slams at one time. I wouldn't be opposed to Nadal continuing to make history and pick up yet another title either. Honestly, there's no shortage of good stories as far as I'm concerned.

Not necessarily. Last year, Thiem beat Rafa in Madrid and Rafa beat him in straight sets at RG.
