Another 5 set match but Berrettini is into the round of 16!!!!

Otte defeated Seppi - so many surprises and we aren't even out of the 3rd round yet!

Otte was actually a slight favorite. I’m not sure if that was despite Seppi’s two upsets or because he had to play so much to win those matches vs Fucsovics and Hurkacz. The Italian is 37 so the books may have factored that in.

Question - what channels/networks in the U.S. are covering USO. I haven't watched at all. I might throw $7 at an ESPN+ subscription for one month to watch the second week if it's on ESPN.

Everytime I get worried I just tell myself: "It's Nishikori. Kei Nishikori."

It’s the way to go but my situation (community satellite hookup) doesn’t allow me ESPN Plus without linking to an expensive platform and staying home to watch on a separate device. You can’t stream the ESPN matches to a phone so I put up with straight ESPN and pray my favorites get air time.

At least Nishikori won the first set - here's hoping he can win two more as they are tied at one set a piece. I will be so much more relaxed and happy if Nishikori can somehow pull off the upset. So Djokovic has now lost 2 tiebreaks in 3 matches. He is defeatable by several players and I have hope!

Looking forward to the later matches tonight!

On the ESPN+ stream of the Karatsev-Brooksby, as the match started, the announcers talked about what was at state - an opportunity for one of these players to advance to the round of 16 of a Slam for the first time. Umm. Isn't anyone doing research.

Blake and Cahill debated whether a hindrance by Monfils was warranted on SP earlier. Apparently Monfils timed his celebratory yell just as Sinner made ball contact.

The crowd is fully behind Monfils, which I find surprising in that Sinner is the young upstart they usually go for. Monfils has history of clowning it up at Flushing. The 2016 SF vs Joe Kovic was three-ring clowning. I guess they are forgiving his sins.

JMac is fully on Monfils side. That’s reason enough to pull for Jannik even more.
