Then keep your fingers crossed that my timely reply results in a selection. If so, then you get a playtest right along with me.Dang i look away for a few days and the frame I REALLY wanted to playtest comes up and i miss the email deadline. D'oh!
As far as Prestige is concerned, all Graphene versions were a step back from IG, let alone PT or PC. At least for us, more feel-concerned rec players. As for the pro players, we see that most of them play with the old guys - PT600, PT57A or something heavily customized formula-wise that will never hit the common market. Partly, it's our fault too, because I still hear comments like this: "It's a perfect, very light racket!"
The feel of the graphene racquets have been horrific. What I heard is that the Graphene models went lighter and polarized and this is where the game is at today (yes, there are still the old-school non-polarized players out there). The thing is that these lighter frames can be customized to old-school non-polarized setups with lead tape in the right places.

That would be AWESOME!!!!Then keep your fingers crossed that my timely reply results in a selection. If so, then you get a playtest right along with me.
No it's not. It's a result of the layup. Placement of weight does not effect the layup. It's the layup that Head decided to use. It's kind of the nature of polarized setups that you sacrifice feel for performance in terms of maximum swingweight for minimum static weight.
Replace the grip with a Wilson Feather Thin. It gets a 4-3/8 very close to a 1/4. Depends on the thickness of the original grip.im very interested in the tour, but need a 4 1/4” grip.
Did you mean the custom broken glass/ baked liquid metal tar fiber layup? It's the layup that Head decided to use.
Nothing so far, but as I said earlier... the lack of 'Woohoo! I was selected' posts, as well as TW not updating the first post with 'playtesters have been notified', means we're all still in the running...Anyone heard anything?
I think you had to pick one when applying.I'm excited, I got picked for this playtest. I wonder which model I will get to review?
Thank you TW!
If by ‘LA’ you mean Northern Virginia, then sure, let’s hit!Congrats on all the playtesters. Anyone in the LA area get picked and want to hit?
I am also relatively new. Have hit with the Microgel and Graphene/GrapheneXT pro lines (16x19). Hopefully I can do a nice comparison. So pleased to have been picked. I am new to the Prestige line. Thanks TW.
I picked my preference but i don't think it means I'll get it.I think you had to pick one when applying.

@Boyd Clary,
I just looked up your playtest email and you were not eligible for this playtest as you did not provide a full shipping address (only the street address). We need a full shipping address in order to ship the racquets.
For the future, we want to give a couple tips on how to improve your chances on getting selected. Apply for string playtests first and leave detailed, thorough reviews. We generally have a larger amount of strings to send out for playtests and your chances are much higher of being selected. Additionally, it helps if you have a good history on the message board and are participating in a positive way especially in the shoe, string and racquet sections.
Thanks,
Brittany, TW
Thats true! I'll let you guess what I applied for.Email says "you will be given the racquet you applied to playtest".
This is so poetic.
I will review the new Graphene Touch Prestige Mid/Tour. That will be my focus. How the racquet performsaaaahhhh...i see the "head still makes the PT57" still reference or something along the lines now.

Here's the list, filtered down to just the Prestige line:You can now see the TW published specs on racquet finder

Damn. Just realized I asked for the Tour when I meant to say Mid. Wonder if that had any bearing. I suspect most people asked for the Tour. I wanted to compare the mid to the Premier Tour, as they appear to come from the same mold (at least very very similar). Oh well.

They really jumbled the specs around this time. The Pro is now 95 sq in and softer than the MP. Overall I think that the mid is the most attractive to me.

I think I have an idea of what a Prestige purist and a very knowledgable person of the line, like yourself, would go for - looking forward to your feedback!Thats true! I'll let you guess what I applied for.
