Nadal leads the H2H 8-5. Should be a great match if del Potro is ok physically.

Nadal is going to have to be careful and deliberate.

the USO is playing like the Olympics court in 2016 where Delpo beat Nadal.

Nadal is the favorite.

Delpo's backhand is truly abysmal right now. Everywhere else he's a horrible matchup for Rafa but that one weakness is something Rafa is going to be ruthless in exploiting, unlike Fed.

Nadal in 4 but wouldn't shock me in 3. He won't use roger's tactics I tell you that much

Yesterday you said that Thiem is a mug for going to Del Po's forehand, Roger wont do the same mistake !
Today Roger is tanking going to Del Po's forehand, Nadal wont do the same mistake !

Maybe .. just maybe it is not that easy to avoid Del Potro's forehand

Delpo winning a 2nd Major would be nice. Hope he does it. Should have made 2013 Wimbledon final, would not have suffered a heat stroke like Djokovic.

He denied Fedal 2009, time to deny again.

I'm actually giving Del Po the advantage here simply because the court speed. Not only is Ashe slow its bouncy. Those Nadal loops are going to bounce right into the Hammer.

The court is fast enough for Del Po to flatten out forehands and be rewarded and slow enough to where Del Po doesn't have to play amazing defense to win.

You know, I really like Delpo. He's such a warrior who's been through so much **** throughout his carrer. I loved the way he beat Djoko in the Olympics and I loved the way he beat Thiem on Monday.

You know, I'm even willing to forgive him for taking my personal idol down tonight. That's cool.

BUT IF HE ****ING LOSES TO RAFA IN STRAIGHT ROUTINE SETS, I'M GONNA HATE HIM SO ****ING MUCH TIL THE END OF TIMES.

Del Po is gonna leave it all out. If that means destroy his wrist again he's gonna do it.

Nadal is going to keep attacking the backhand. It'll be up to Del Po to hit offensive backhands to set up forehands.

Nadal in three easy sets. Rafa will simply play 90% of his shots to the BH and wait for the weak or short reply, then feast on it. I don't see JMDP putting up much resistance and he won't serve as incredibly well as he did against Fed.

Can't really see Delpo winning this. Yeah he served and hit really well against Roger, but let's get real Roger blew so many easy balls on critical points. That tiebreaker??? I mean LOL. Guy has 3 sets points can't get one good serve in. Then next set serves 4 consecutive near aces. I mean, you can't make this stuff up. So Delpo won, credit, but Roger was just awful. Nadal should take it 3 or 4.

I took Delpo in 4. His form usually gets better.

He's had a cold, his nose was still red tonight so he's probably about over it.

I expect him to be in top shape at match time, he loves the crowd and has plenty of fans, that pushes him to his top level.

Nadal better be careful, he has a bomb ready to go off.

Agree that Nadal is a big favorite. But I think Delpo will actually have a better chance than Fed.

Delpo is playing inspired tennis right now. He's going to put it all out on the line. I just wish he had his 2009 BH.

I just don't get Roger's tactics of continually going to the FH and on top of that missing ridiculously easy put aways on set points. I mean when does Roger miss an overhead? Fcking BS. So frustrating. Yeah, yeah I know he won 2 slams, I'm of course very happy about that, but when you lose, don't lose missing a floater for godsakes.

I don't think Delpo can win by as much as he did the last time they met in the USO semi, but Delpo will win for sure. What a time to be alive
I love your optimism. But let's not underestimate the importance of a rock-solid BH for anyone facing a Nadalian onslaught! Delpo used to have that in 2009 in large measure but now is an old-lady slice machine!

I really like Delpo, and have been fortunate enough to watch him win a tournament. He is spectacular. That said, his backhand is beyond weak, unless he is fooling everyone.

It would be so cool if Del Potro wins the Open and makes the WTF - Federer, Nadal, Zverev, Thiem, Del Potro, Cilic and Dimitrov .. a very decent line even with all the injuries

Fed may have been worse tonight than he was against Youzhny. He looked like a 3.0 on some of his shots.
His back must have been giving him serious pain.
