At this point, Matteo winning is out of the question. All I can hope for is another point where Djokovic falls down awkwardly and I can make a GIF of it to giggle at later.

Wow scorching hot take unless you're not factoring in how good it was for it's time. Like it's obviously better than AC 1 if they were both released today but AC 1 is still the better game.
It's better than AC 1, AC 3, Unity, Rogue and Syndicate. Haven't played Valhalla but I wouldn't have it above Odyssey by the looks of it.

AC 1 was groundbreaking, but it was still a boring, repetitive game at the time. It's not revisionist history to say so.

They're may be good games but I don't think they're good AC games. I feel like the spirit of the franchise totally disappeared after Black Flag and now it's just a series of different antic periods with a generic warrior and the name "AC" attached to it. We totally lost touch with the whole Assassins vs Templars thing.

Black Flag is great but AC 2 and Brotherhood are up there too. Ezio Auditore and Edwards Kenway are the coolest assassins of the franchise.
I don't see how Unity and Origins aren't AC games. Unity is like incredibly AC it's almost a straight formula copy of AC II and Origins is the origins of the assassins so despite some formula changes (RPG/Less vertical stealth) it still feels very AC to me. ACV/ACOdyssey I see your point though.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I love AC 3. My favorite story of the franchise.

I think Djokovic right now is playing better than ever. His serving is the best it's ever been. His forehand is much much improved. The net play as well.
Sure he has lost some speed with age. But he more than makes up for it by experience, tactical acumen.

I think this Novak would beat any version of Roddick. Honestly the only players who could challenge this Novak on a court like this are peak Federer and Peak Sampras. He will beat everyone else. And yes, even at 34.
I agree. This display of returns and the turning defensive shots into killer offense is surreal. All one can do is applaud. He’s making a bomb server look like a 5 foot 4 WTA player. Insane

Joker has definitely upped his level, but Berry is just flat out MUGGING it up out there. How many shots has he buried into the bottom of the net?

Matteo is wasting good memery tonight barring some kind of miracle (But the 1 set win was probably said miracle) . We should stockpile and save all available unused memes for Zverev-Djokovic.

good lord Berrettini is even worse than in the Wimbledon final

which was kind of expected considering he's been pretty mediocre in his matches this tournament, but still

No you’re wrong don’t you know when the speed goes you are declined and a shell of your peak ? Djokovic has lost pace but has improved his serve, tactics and is mentally stronger than ever

I use the same memes for every match. No wonder everybody is sick of me. Meh. :p

Well, as someone who only comes here for serious tennis discourse on this very serious tennis website, I could do without seeing John Cena.

At this age no. Look I'm a Novak fan but 2011 & 2015 versions were flat out better overall.

This version I'm not automatically taking Novak over 03 or 06 Roddick or even 04 Agassi but courts are slower now than then. So I don't know why you bring up Fed & Pete. Better to just consider Agassi at the AO in 00-01 or Edberg.

Yeah. People here are caught up into peak and prime and all that stuff. The fact is that's all not real. You always need to improve in tennis. If you don't, you will get left behind. And Novak is continuously getting better.

All experts are saying Novak is playing the best tennis of his life. That is why he is about to win CYGS. And in this form he would beat anyone from history. This is said by Gilbert, Cahill, JMac, Mats, Woodforde, Blake etc.

lol Jesus Christ, this board…

Djokovic has been playing at an insane level for the past 12 games.
It’s been the same every match. He starts slow but after a set or two loosens up and plays some excellent tennis. And frankly he looks better each round. It’s gonna be the same on Friday and Sunday.

He doesn't care about best of 3.
If people believe in next gen, put any money on Zed or Med.
No one would EVER do that. Because they know that Novak will win. Because he is just better. It's pretty simple.
I agree with anything apart from the first statement. Of course he cared. It was the Olympics and one of the stages of a potential Golden Slam. And he was definitely and visibly into it. His game was just gone all of a sudden midway through the 2nd set. To his credit he even fought for 3rd place, even though he lost again.

Berettini's return of serve game is among the worst I've seen. Equally bad is his backhand (basically a slice). No way he is beating Novak - he'll run a truck through this weaknesses.
