2019 Men's National Indoors

Yes, you should complain, never would happen out West. Texas is underrated, or we will see what they are made of this weekend. Illinois is a really good team, I actually wish they were using their facility instead of this Midtown club...
They do hold the challenger event in their university indoor courts in champainge. but maybe they don't have enough of the indoor courts to hold this event. I think they need minimum of 12 indoor courts.

Getting a little tighter. Texas now up 3-2, with Illinois up a break in #3 singles.

Given the length of these matches, and being the last match of the day, I doubt either one of these teams will be real fresh for tomorrow.

It was actually closer then the scores would suggest. Axel had set points to even the match, he lost those and never won another game. If he did get it to the 3rd set they're was hope since I think Stanford would have won on court 2.anyway does not matter much, the winner faces Ohio and no one is beating them

lol, you 'think' they would have won on 2, a court where they didn't have the momentum, having lost the second set and opening game of the 3rd

but yes, in alternate-reality land, stanford was close in this match, in real life they lost a handful of 6-0 and 6-1 singles sets while getting blitzed

USC vs. Florida in a really tight situation. Brandon Holt and Oliver Crawford are in the 3rd set tiebreak, with the team score being 3-3.

USC beats Florida and Texas beats Illinois in tiebreakers on the last court (1st singles USC-Florida, 3rd singles Texas-Illinois)

University of Southern California (13) def. University of Florida (4): 4-3

I was rooting so hard for USC, as I'm a huge fan of Brandon Holt and the Trojans. I can't tell you how weird I felt when they were up 2-0 after the Doubles point and Verboven, then having the score tied at 3-3.

DOUBLES
1. Holt/R. Smith (USC) def. Vale/Kessler (FLA), 6-1
2. Perez/Inglidsen (FLA) def. Verboven/Jaede (USC), 6-4
3. Cukierman/T. Smith (USC) def. Crawford/Riffice (FLA), 6-4

SINGLES
1.
Brandon Holt (USC) def. Oliver Crawford (FLA), 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3)
2. Daniel Cukierman (USC) def. Sam Riffice (FLA), 7-5, 2-6, 6-4
3. Laurens Verboven (USC) def. Andy Andrade (FLA), 6-4, 6-3
4. Johannes Inglidsen (FLA) def. Riley Smith (USC), 3-6, 7-5, 7-5
5. Alfredo Perez (FLA) def. Mor Bulis (USC), 6-4, 0-6, 7-5
6. McClain Kessler (FLA) def. Jake Sands (USC), 4-6, 6-4, 6-3

Only two undefeated teams now-Ohio State and Texas, and Texas barely held on tonight while OSU has been cruising to victory. Florida unfortunately had to face USC who were determined not to lose for the 4th time straight. Exciting finish to the last 2 matches-flipping back and forth between Clark/Telles and Crawford/Holt. Illinois had a lot of heart and fight to come back from 1-3 to battle out the match in tiebreaks at 3 and 6. Helped to be playing close to home but not quite enough for the win.

It's really early in the college season but I have a scary feeling that it'll be Wolf vs. Chrysochos in the finals of the NCAA.

Zeke Clark kind of choked in the tiebreaker. played too conservative and didn't take chances, hoping the other dude would give it to him
He played a couple of incredible points when he was down 3-6 to get to 5-6. For a small guy, he is very fast. He had some amazing gets, but it was not enough tonight.

Depends on how well Wolf plays outside. He won a Challenger inside. However, he did win AA in the fall-was that inside or out? It was in October so it might have been outside.

Exactly, when he was Down 3-6. His coach told him finally, play one point,,, one point at a time,, one shot at a time. Why didn't he imploy that strategy when 0-0

Zeke’s a fighter, he’ll be ok. I’m a little bit more concerned with Alex Brown, although he had a tough opponent.
Who cares ? This team not going to win the Indoor title or NCAA title this year. What happened to the year of Rajeev Ram and that other dude at #1 that was supposedly promised to be top 10 player,,,,, forgot his name .................

Agree that Brown is struggling-watched him lose to a GT freshman at a Jan exhibition match. Kovacevic is playing great tennis though- he was a late bloomer who has continued to get better in college. The fall of his senior year he was just a 4 star, caught fire late in his senior year, and now as a college junior he is playing 1 and beating some of the top teams' 1S players.

Yeah Kova’s a player (I always like players with one handed backhands). I thought he would play in the 3 slot this year, but he’s now playing and beating some good players at #1. Brown exceeded expectations last year as a freshman, so maybe I’m expecting too much this year.

Seriously, what is your problem? You’re a troll. The only thing your posts are good for is comedic value.

It doesn’t look like Stanford is going to win this year either - does that mean you stop rooting for them?
What's you talking about ? Stanford WILL win this year. They are improving every time they step on the court. and this ITA indoor will make them so much better. It will help them win the NCAA title this year

If anything it's Ohio State or Wake Forest at this point. Even Virginia has a better shot than Stanford at the moment.

no live streaming at the moment. what a joke. and even when there is live streaming it's only the doubles and singles court 1, 3, and 5. amateur hour.

I'm not suggesting that Virginia was lucky or anything. They won fair and square. It just that almost all matches went 4:3 he this one was 4:2 so one may get the impression that stanford was overmatched. It really was close.
Look at the Illinois VS Texas. IL was down 3:0 and 2:5 in one of the remaining matches. They saved like 3 match points on that court, 2 more on another, and an hour later it is 3:3 with deciding match in 3rd set TB. and if could have been 4:0 if not for a single point.
Now, those results on 6,5,and 4 - unacceptable.

yap, it did not look that way judging from the matches, but they are soooo good. On the bright side Stanford beats Tulane as well...

They are filthy

And they are adding Canon Kingsley (US Open semis in doubles/3rd round singles, Aussie Open finals doubles/QF singles) and two other blue chips next year (JJ Mercer and Robert Cash)

The train keeps rolling

not bad for being in the loser's bracket.

Saw one of the biggest hooks yesterday by Peck of UNC with their coach watching it on court. TCU got screwed. At 1-1 in the last set the TCU player is serving at deuce. He hits an ace and Peck calls it in and goes to his towel. The ref thought he called it out and goes with the call and then craziness goes on for 5 minutes as Peck now says he called it out and the UNC coach does nothing. Roditi starts running around the court yelling at everyone he can find but the call stands and the TCU players double faults after a lengthy delay. That was the basically the match.

Yea , there are ton of hooking going on, all teams and players are Hooking any chance they get. even more so if they know they can get away with it. What is this world coming to ? and Coaches do nothing.

Impossible, because we were told that UNC is the epitome of sportsmanship after they ganged up and blasted Borna Gojo on social media for his questionable line call last year.

I saw people on twitter mention that incident yesterday and they seemed reluctant to fully call out Peck because they didn't see it 100% clearly.

two ways to look at this. some who saw it thought that peck called it out and then corrected himself to say it was good, but the umpire didn't see him correct himself and thought it was too close to overrule. some who saw it say that peck called it out. when questioned by tcu he made a motion with his hand to show how far out it was, as opposed to say that the ball was good.

impossible to know for sure unless someone can find a replay.
