Roger was too tentative there at 30-15. MP.

The crucial miss was at 15-0 when he had the forehand on his racquet to finish the point and missed. I think Zverev would have crumbled at 0-30.

But anyway, Zverev won’t win the title and Federer has no real goals left for this year. What counts is AO and fighting as hard as possible to protect his Slam record.

This is a great build-up for Zverev to have another pathetic Slam season. AO will be good :* I mean Lacko in the 2nd round, impossible draw.

Would have been an amazing comeback but this is cool too. It was a fun match. Fed is still playing decent and attracting plenty of interest. (y)

7 years ago in the final, Djokoivc also saved 5 MPs in the second set (a long TB too) but came back in the 3rd set beat Murray.

Nutty. His second serve was 50 kmphs slower than his first today, one of the biggest I've seen....

If Zverev can figure out a way to play so aggressively all the time, not just on occasions he will be a very tough player to beat for anyone. The base of his game is so solid. He is bad at the net but he can do everything else very well and he moves unbelievably well for his size.

I'm looking at the comments and someone said fed played like excrement, look at it this way, Federer is defying age at this point in his career and the rigours that come with that yet he's number 3 in the World, he's made a slam final, won a masters and two 500s and he's made the semis of a slam he hasn't participated in since 2015. Federer fans should keep their heads held high.

Tsitsipas was playing much better today though. Medvedev is tougher mentally, but dunno, maybe it’s about time for Tsitsipas to beat him.
During USO Med also wasn't exactly GOATing, he was just really clutch mentally. But in the final he suddenly upped his level. We'll see. I don't really care who wins the title.

But he has to learn from this guy how to volley:

Of course he played like excrement. He lost to Zverev on a non-molasses hard court. I don't care how old he is (though of course the excrement levels are subsumed by that aspect).

This isn't even his full potential. When his first serve is clicking and a high percentage in, 2nd is icing on the cake, but still his 2nd serve is damaged goods even now.

Amazing comeback from Federer in the 2nd set, but no complaints from my side for him losing the match.
Zverev thoroughly outplayed fed in almost all areas but mental toughness..
Good luck sascha...
It shows that fed is still here, he wants to win & compete

Exactly, their expectations are absurd.
After Wimbledon Final 2019, everything that comes from now is downhill for Federer.

Nadal choked and played pathetic. It was not about Medvedev playing amazing.
Even a decent Nadal wins the final in straights. Nadal choked against Diego, berritini and then in the final. Medvedev just took advantage of a sub par and tight Nadal.

You again bring such stuff...Yes, Nadal got tight when he was up a break in the third set, and he had a few bad misses. However, after that Medvedev really started GOATing. He didn't forgive Nadal that few mistakes and didn't give another chance for a long time. Nadal really had to take the match from in the fifth.
