Brutal match with a dramatic ending. Great stuff! Among other things (29 FH UEs) Tsits couldn´t handle those high bouncers into his BH - but he prevailed nonetheless.

Just watched the Tsitsipas highlights. Why is he collapsing to the ground after a QF win in a 500 tourney against some random player? Good for him to win but....really Stef?

He just did not have it at all today and the windy conditions messed with his game(and mind), he is also getting tired and it shows. He played at C- level at best and he was down 5-2 on the tiebreak with 2 serves coming to Acosta and he still won it.

I've seen people celebrating harder for lesser wins, lol.

I'm not surprised, he's desperate for praise and attention at all times.
Since he's not good enough to ever win a slam title, he treats the lesser events like slams.
He'll try to convince us that slams are not even the most important events, and has said something to that effect.

3rd set, won’t watch it because I’m really getting tiered …. But don’t like the letsgoooooos on opponent UFE by Fils

Some drama here late in the third. Fils looks like he's about to implode, bungled a couple of break points in that last game. Let's see if he can hold his nerve and his serve to stay in this match.

What a cheap piece of amateur psychology - did you watch this match? Tsits was gassed and he had to battle really hard - fighting off 2 match points, he gave it all. Why not celebrate such an effort?

Insanely bad bounce on the baseline gives Lajovic his Nth match point, and Fils misses a forehand to give the match away. Good play from Lajovic, he hit some beautiful DTL backhands in that last game.

Not entirely random, he is the current Argentina Open champion.

I believe Tsitsipas collapsing to the ground had something to do with the match point he saved. Plus for a split second he probably thought the Netflix cameras were still around.

Interesting stat, although the race doesn't mean all that much yet at this point of the year. A bit too early yet to say that Stef is definitely out of his slump, let's see how the rest of the clay season goes.
If he wins more than 1500 pts from Madrid Rome and RG he will most likely play in Turin. It's that good a performance already. So yeah we have to say he is out of slump maybe this week itself.

Ruud back into another final this week. Maybe he can win his 1st 500 this week after playing so bad in the MC final last week. His form is really good right now.

This is a totally different match from the one that happened yesterday for Stefanos.

The lack of wind is certainly helping, but a lot more first strike attacking in this one. The quarters was bruising.

Still looking to see if the fatigue from the quarters will impact ST here, so far he has shown absolutely zero signs of it.

Great tennis now especially from Lajovic, he is feeling it. A joy to watch a match between two 1HBH ers

Lajovic has some serious wheels on him, you don't often see it, but he can move, and move very fast.

And that is the first set. Lajovic takes it.

Tsistsipas chances of the double have dropped significantly.
