Thank God Ruud finally took out Shelton. Ben's strutting, screaming and acting up on court are totally obnoxious. His Dad is incredibly annoying too. Glad Casper prevailed.

I hear you.
I've generally disliked American players except Andre and James Blake. Can't stand Taylor Fritz, not fond of Tommy Paul or Tiafoe. Sam Querrey and Opelka were boring. Sebi and Eubanks are both great, but are non-factors on tour.
But Shelton is a special brand of obnoxious and in your face about it. I love how Casper calmly won the match and was so understated after enduring Shelton screaming like a maniac whenever he hit a winner. This sums it up for me -

I only saw Shelton's dad, Bryan, play a few times. As I recollect, he was quite calm and quiet on the court. Do you happen to remember? It's been a long time!
The match of Bryan Shelton's that I most remember is when he pushed Edberg hard in the opening round of US Open 1991. Edberg won 6-4 2-6 7-6 6-1, but he had save three set points on serve at 4-5 0-40 in the third set! Edberg came in on mediocre form, so struggling with a fairly low-ranked player in round 1 wasn't that surprising, but he then went on to win the title dropping only one further set all tournament (and that was in round 3). It was weird that Edberg came into the US Open in 1990 on great form, having not lost since Queen's Club, and went out in round 1 in straight sets, and then came into the US Open 1991 on mediocre form, having lost 3-6 2-6 to Lendl two days before the event started and not having won an event since Queen's Club, and won the title for the loss of just two sets! Ah, the highs and lows of being an Edberg fan!
Edit: I had totally forgotten until I looked up his Wiki page, that Bryan S beat Stich (the #2 seed) in round 1 of Wimbledon 1994 in straight sets and went on to reach round 4 - the only time he made it past round 3 of a slam; he never made it past round 2 except at Wimbledon - where he lost to Christian Bergstrom 8-10 in the fifth set. Had Shelton pulled that match out, I'd actually have seen his quarter-final in person, as I was on the old court 1 for men's quarter-finals day that year. Bergstrom lost in straight sets against Boris Becker, but the second match was a humdinger between Wayne Ferreira and Todd Martin, which the latter won 7-5 in the fifth having let slip a two-set lead. Typically, I was cheering for both losers that day. (I actually am so likely to cheer for the underdog that some stranger once pointed it out to me at Wimbledon. We were watching Mariaan de Swardt test Steffi Graf in round 2 of Wimbledon 1999 and I was cheering for de Swardt. As I had earlier cheered for Carlos Moya against Jim Courier, this stranger commented to me, "You always cheer for the other one"! I don't recall us exchanging any other words all day! N.B., though, Moya was actually the seeded player, not Courier - although Courier won in five).

Why the negativity towards ADM? Wonderful guy on court who gives it his all and doesn’t treat people the way Zverev, Rublev, Medvedev, Tsitsipas and so many more do. He’s already accomplished so much. Sure he’s not Hewitt with 2 slams but first Aussie in the top 10 in 20 years and winning these 500’s and getting huge top 10 scalps.
