^He might be gaining more mass more headsize with his frame but his hair is thinning quite a bit (only noticeable in those close up pictures). He's considered one of the "model" more attractive ATP Players by media and whatnot? He was hot enough to date Sharapova and be with a popstar right now. Better go get those hair plugs soon.
I hate the widows peak fade on the sides. It's happening to me right now. Sometimes I want to cry about it. lol Don't take my hair!!!
He still has quite a bit of hair in the front that if he grew it out more, not shave it down so tight.. he could completely disguise it with a few tricks with hair product.

Take a break man. Some people aren't fit for online forums.

He's gotta try something, man.. He's running out of time to fulfill his true destiny as baby might Federer. and win a Major before it is too late.
You're still holding onto hope? At this point, he can't beat the OldGen, has at best even odds against his own gen (the Lostgen - Nishikori, Raonic, Cilic, Thiem) and probably can't even beat the NexGen. And he's now having shoulder trouble. I can see him retiring at 30 if he continues with these lackluster results.

he has a good chance to win Wimbledon this year. we need to fix the draw so he can win. Lets all work on that.

Cilic isn’t from LostGen nor is Thiem.

looks like a thick beamed racquet still. His old 93 was actually very thin. Doubt its his old 93

Personally I hope he gives 6.1 95 a test, such a beautiful frame. He switched to a customised rf97 with different string pattern, but same mould.

Your eyes are better than mine because that looks like a thin frame.

He's blaming the racket too much.

With age, he's losing his chance to make a switch that sticks (like Fed did when going to the 97")...

He’s testing different layups right now. Have been in the Wilson stringing room the last 3 days; he’s been testing 4 different blacked out frames. Different drill patterns, weights, balances, etc. Cannot comment on exact specs or share any pictures (was not allowed to take any). Though I can assure you he’s using gut 4G hybrid with power pads.

I absolutely love the 6.1. IMO one of the greatest racquets, the feel and the overall jack of all trades racquet. I'm not a player that thinks the racquet makes the player, but I would love to see how grigor goes with a six one, either in his 18/17 pattern or 16/20. I think it'd suit him awesome

Play a good bit with the RF97 and a modified PS97. Both are 16x19 pattern. Have decided this season to stick with my 2017 6.1 95 18x20’s for the season. It is incredible how much more control I have with that frame off the ground and hitting my spots on the serve. The 6.1 are great frames.

Spot on, can't agree with you more. Played with rf97 for abit over a year now and IMO I think it's a bit of an overhyped stick, to me it feels slightly more awkward to my amazing six ones. Love the six one so much, love every detail from the 95 inch headsize, the rounded beam that I rest my non dominant hand on, ugh i can go on all day. It's the only racquet that feels extremely comfortable, and gives the the feeling that I can place my balls anywhere

I have been struggling to find a current racket that replicates the Wilson 95 box beam/thin beam of 2012-2015 era. :(

It will be interesting to see what racket specs Grigor lands on next.

Have you tried the Pro Staff 97S V2? It’s box beam and thin at 19.5mm. The only thing is that it’s 18x17, so not your traditional string pattern. I loved it and was sad to let it go. Great stick to mod imo.

Hrmm I've had a 2017 6.1 18x20 sitting around

Maybe I can’t count but 18/17? Old 97s? Wish he would make a change and stick to it. Not sure what HE feels is missing from his racquet but solve that and don’t look back. Suck for the year it’ll take to trust the racquet as Fed did more or less and never look back.

Pws look like his custom 93 at first glance.

I always thought his 93 was a little boxier through the PWS that almost looks more roundish. Than again paint and light don’t help much.

It has a boxy cross section like the last gen ps90 and ps95 but from the bottom to top of the hoop it has a longer curve, that’s what I think I’m seeing (on my phone).

It’s been a while, wasn’t there a difference in shared holes between his 93 and the 97s?

Watching him play Feli lopez right now, and I think this is definitely a thinner beam but also definitely a 97. Maybe the primary motivator for the Beginning Of The End in 2014 was shoulder discomfort, and roger Rasheed advising him to move up for more comfort/longevity as well as the easier power. I think he was playing decently well with the RF97 clones but probably decided they were too stiff and the pain was outweighing their positives. He’s hitting surprisingly well on average this match, returning a high percentage of lopez’s serves, playing with a high magic quotient. Hope he can heal his shoulder and 2nd serve and do some good work in his Second Half

If you look on his instagram post, you'll realise it's an old 93. His recent racquets have all had his upgraded Unique graphic name with the Lion next to his name. I'm pretty sure he's still using his old 93 as it shows his signature printed in the throat. Also worth nothing is that when he was playing with the rf97s his racquet was a lower stiffness but thats just what i can see

I don’t know from Instagram but you are right, it’s the 93 now, the boxier, super thin beam and him playing surprisingly well...It’s crazy how much more accurately he hits the ball with that thing, and that he can’t seem to move up in size without losing his tennis

Imagine if he won a GS with the 95”. Imagine if Wilson brought back the Pro Staff 6.1 95 18x20 because of that..
They would just market him as using a PS97 Countervail because they think the average person isn't smart enough to know the difference...
