NEW Prestige MP 360

Head makes a weak throat (Graphene process) only to try and beat the RA numbers. Common knowledge.
Very interesting point. Was not aware of the gaming of the flex numbers. Are there other metrics that measures flex in other areas of the racket that can explain this? I can’t quite put my finger on it what’s the difference but I’m hoping the next prestige will play more like the pre graphene versions.

For the new prestige mp, does it look like they changed the drilling pattern?

I’m also curious for the rest of the line. Will the Rev Pro continue or will the Mid ressurge? Also, what about the Pro? Does it cease to exist or maybe it switch names with the MP? [/hope]

Well, today I’ve played a match with IG YT Prestige Pro. What a sweet feel is that!

Reading all this BS about the new Prestige lines will deff take me to another brand!

HEAD
dont mess with Prestige line anymore and get rid of that letter G on your racquets!

Ugh, sounds like the trend continues - if you want anything resembling proper Prestige then Wilson will be happy to sell you an Ultra Tour :-D
What about the new Blade? Is Blade a Prestige competitor?

I instantly noticed that the 360 Instinct MP (TW listed RA at 65) was much softer than the 360 Speed and Extreme MP's (both listed at 63).

The RA gaming was at its worst with the graphene touch stuff (weak throat and rock hard hoop), but it does seem the pendulum may have swung as the 360s were close to neutral feel and the 360+ (with decent stock weight) are actually pleasing feel at contact.

I don’t think the Graphene versions will ever play like the non-Graphene ones, but it seems like Head is spreading the flex out slightly, rather than concentrated just in the throat.

I’m anticipating the new 360 Prestige, but the Prestige was Head’s original “super blunder” back in 2014, so I’m very cautious.

Right now, a 360 Instinct 98 would put Head back on the map.

So, the new MP seems like a Blade competitor rather than a modification to the current mold? Flexy and with great feel, a la Gravity Pro. Lower powered than the Blade, but with more precision. Maybe better than IG?
Although it seems to be a very nice racquet, I’m unsure of why it will coexist with the Gravity Pro...

Have you seen and played with the 360 Prestige?

I play the Graphene Touch Speed MP, and I honestly don’t know why people hate that tech so much. It feels super soft and is low powered for a 100 square inch head. I hit with the radical mp and liked it as well. Does it feel as good as the new blade? No, but it’s certainly a good feeling tech in my opinion.

Yep, the Touch Radical MP is not that bad. It’s just slightly tip heavy.

It's not as bad as people make out. I also used it for a while, if anything I felt it lacked a little crispness but if you want a 100" lower powered, comfortable spin-friendly frame it's a contender

my ONLY issue w the speed MP is that it needs a little more swingweight. if it was a 305-310 g frame with a 325 sw id still be using it.

I stuck a leather grip and 3g of lead on it and got to around those specs. It played great except I felt it was too muted eventually

I played with the new G360+ MP. Paint looks better in real life than pics, it's basically identical to VCORE red, but less metallic. It was strung with Head Experimental Tour 17 at 50lbs.

I have mixed feelings about this racquet.

The good:

Weight distribution. The balance and level of polarization is excellent. The racquet is stable, has reliable access to power and spin (especially for an 18x20), yet remains maneuverable enough for the modern game. The thin beam is nice, and I think offers more stability than other sticks with similar beam widths (eg VCore Pro 97). The string bed is very consistent thanks to the 18x20 pattern. Backhand slice was excellent.

The bad:

Stiff hoop, reminded me of the EZone 98 in this way. This racquet can feel jarring when hit in the upper third of the string bed. I hit the GT Prestige Pro alongside the G360+ MP and I think the GT offers a lot more comfort. It still feels solid though, the same way the Gravity feels solid. G360+ seems to offer a consistent feels across the line so far. I just wish it was more plush. Imo the VCORE 95 is still a better option.

Some notes:

I dont think Head Experimental is a very consistent string. I strung my racquet of choice (VC95) with it and compared it to my new go to setup, GrappleSnake Tour Sniper. I have previously used GS Neon Hybrid, Tourbite, Polytour Pro, and ALU Power in my racquet. Experimental is quite powerful, and the launch angle can get a little crazy. The feel is very, very crisp, but not uncomfortable, and it offers good ball pocketing. I can see why Thiem hybrided it with Hawk in the crosses.

Fyi the beam looks like normal box beam, but the throat is trapezoidal like the outgoing Speed racquets. It think this adds stability.

I also briefly his with the Prestige S 360+ and I really liked it, but it was a bit light. Very plush for a 68 RA unsprung racquet (I measured), great pocketing and very stable for its weight. Reminds me of the 2020 Strike, but more plush. Also it has cap grommets if you are wondering. I'm really interested in the 95sqin Prestige Pro and the Tour, but I doubt I'll switch from my VC95.

I got a pack to try out,,
I strung it up on head.gravity.pro (18/20), @48lbs
its a interesting string
it looks like a 7-8?!?!? sided copoly, I would thinks its like a 7-8sided h.lynx,
i took some close-up pictures, they kinda show the flat edges, which you can feel a bit but cant see them very well
its not a 5sided poly like h.sonic.pro edge, it has more sides,, it also does not feel as sharp as the h.sonic.pro.edge
ill provably post them soon

I hit with the MP and the S this morning. However, they are under NDA so I cannot disclose anything. I can say this, they are really unique. I will be switching to the MP.

Anyone want 4x 25th Anniversary IG prestiges?

Can you say anything about how they differ from your IG Prestige Mids?

I can't really. I can tell you they are different and in a good way. However, HEAD marketing will dictate the angle they want to play. If I say something or take pictures before they do their PR I will get myself and several other people in trouble. That said, I will be switching. To me, they really are a 'Game Changer' for the series. I was convinced the IG Prestige series was the best, that's no longer true.

I can tell you without even playing with new model... it's worse in every aspect because IG Mid is the best, being last true mid and staying on shoulders of previous generations of giants :)

True Mids are really hard to use for the general public especially in today's Power/Spin game. However, I pull out my 600s once in a while for hit however I won't use them in League Match. I have them strung with Gut at 62lbs. Smooth as butter.

Anyhow, I digress. I think they are making the mid (true 93) more accessible for the general public. However hard-core a mid is, if they don't sell, there's no point in making them. I had 3 x Graphene Touch Mid. I love them but the extra couple square inches/lower SW of my IG prestige MP really helps in returns/serves.

I see nothing wrong in producing / selling what people want to buy. As long as I'm not obliged to buy one and can play with mine IGes.

BTW I migrated from IG MP to IG Mid because of lower SW :) My MPes were ~320 and my Mids (strung with thin multi) are ~310 or lower so they're easier to swing and having smaller heads are much faster through air; summa summarum: just easier to play.

Interesting. I have a couple IG mids around as well. Not a bad frame at all. I have Alu Rough in the crosses and Gut in the Mains. When I started playing with them they were so good! However, forgot to prestretch the Gut and now I'm hitting the fence.

Maybe we have to create another thread to discuss our Mids just not to derail this thread :) So the last two cents from me about Last Mohicans.

For my Mids the trick was the thin gauge. I like it better with full RIP 1.2 or hybrid RIP and Tour Bite Soft (both 1.2) than with 1.25 full NG. And 1.25 full poly (Pro Hurricane Tour or some Alu Pwr) was definite show stopper.

Saw the new prestige line today. Wasn’t really feeling the new color way to be honest. None of them were strung so no chance to hit them yet not sure if anyone posted pictures of the new ones yet on here

EXACTLY!!! Either show me a freaking picture or give me a review! Otherwise you as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop!

it's your choice what to do with this information.
you can simply discard it.

I didn't do it (write that I hit with Gravity), even I had no documents signed with Head or my coach when I got to hit with it.
But... writing more, or posting pictures had the risk to generate troubles.
So, I can decide to write or not to write that I got to hit with Gravity.
I can as well decide to write that I have seen Prestige characteristics or not to write.
You can decide if you discard this or become jealous that I didn't write more.

Still no help. But a post is better than no post

I suppose its better than a dead thread but with other people talking about how it hit you can elaborate. Or write something, literally anything.

It's all red and they changed the mould and looks better in real life, has a interesting head symbol and the tour looks like it could be good. The mp is actually bigger than the pro and I didn't know of an s model, also the grip shape is different and the weight. Yay
