Prince Official - Racquets

Nice review of the 100X 16x18 and interestingly the reviewer really liked the colorway. He tested it stock and claimed he could take the racquet as is straight into tournament play which is a very positive recommendation.

I have to say I'm warming much more to the Camo green colorway just based on vision and I think we'd all agree that Prince has had top rate production quality for a long time. Have always found the Prince more rounded grips with the sizable butt flare very, very comfortable and seems like they haven't strayed from that design.

Hank is right about the quality of Prince frames, top notch !
Henrik said he likes the "camo" paintjob, like he likes camo/military apparel and accessories, so yes, he's Right loool!
You beat me to it. Surprised to hear what seems like a major sw drop in the 107G. Also this video has given me hope for the 100X. Still so disappointed they killed the 100G.
As I write in the comment section, if Tennis Warehouse is Prince's distributor in Europe, I feel, they could very easily make 3-5 100x available to people like Henrik and myself, so we get one for 2-3 weeks max (depending on weather etc), so we can post some hitting clips and make somekind of a review. Wouldn't be interesting getting feedback and actual hitting clips from different level of players. I could return it back to TW Europe or directly to someone else in Europe they would tell me to. There's no risk on this (stealing the frame or selling it, I wouldn't do it).

I currently use the 100x 305 the 2020 version. Its amazing and I believe its one of Princes best racquets right now. So easy to use. Huge sweetspot, makes tennis easy even for advanced players. It's amazing for slice and can be combined with a one handed backhand. The launch angle isn't so polarised which is nice. I use the Textreme Tour 100 310 2019 for doubles though since they are similar and the Tour is more stable and simply better at energy return and flicking angles. With the 305, you can string it tight for more control and it won't hurt.

Did you try the previous black version og the 107G and if so how do they compare. Also how did you find the 107G on serve ? this is where I struggle with the frame. Thanks.
I have not tried the previous version unfortunately. The new 107G was great for spin and slice on serve but I had problems to get hard, flat serves inside the box.

There was also a short which noted that the 100x 18x20 playtest has finished and to expect the review soon.

Wondering if the zylon in the throat allowed them to drop the twist weight slightly on the 100" frames. Waiting for TWU numbers to come up for these frames ..

Pity about the 97P, I still hold hope it is added to the line later, similar to prior phantom releases where they had some random release dates of the 14x18 93P and also the 97P.

Bummer they're not continuing the 97p, but to be honest, I wouldn't buy the new one. I much prefer the glossy black version I have. I don't like to pretend I'm in the military when I play tennis :)

It seems the "O" ports are now limited to the Legacy line. There are no new Phantoms nor Tour line racquets with the ports.

Why no 100G? Probably because it didn't sell but it was SOOOO good... I'm cut.
im equally as disappointed, but looking at specs the 100P was never too far off, just didn't allow for as much customization as the SW was up usually 7-10 points on the P but it seemed they dialed it down about 3-4 points from previous one.

What I don't understand on these Phantom reviews is some of the playtesters in past Phantoms always complained about the power level being low. I just don't understand why they don't play with a hybrid setup or all multi and report back on how power level was after than as opposed to just hitting with a stiff poly (and the Prince poly they use is pretty stiff).

100P looks interesting.

I'll be the first to admit I never understood P vs G vs X.

I still have no idea what they mean.
In regards to the Phantom line:
X is round beam
P is box beam
G is box beam with crossbar in throat

Specs are pretty similar across the board. But X feels most modern and slightly thicker beam, P has highest swingweight and most plow through, G is like a modern old school Prince in user friendly package.

Just watched the Phantom 100X 305 review. Bummer that Erik and Kristen are no longer playtesters at TW, as I would have valued their input as previous generation 100X users. The current playtest is a mix of players with no real affinity for the Phantom line, so it’s tough to take much away from the review.

For both the 100P and 100X 305 videos all playtesters seemed virtually lukewarm to semi cold on their playtests. Like I said earlier, if power is such an issue, what is the fascination of using all poly? If anything these racquets strung lower still require good technique but give ample power. Been stringing my 100G with a poly at 45lbs in main and multi at 48lbs in the cross and find it to be sufficient in power.
