Softest most powerful Poly string (without the heavy spin)

I am looking for a very powerful and soft (as soft as poly gets) tennis string. I don't want any known for spin as I feel it makes my ball hit heavy topspin but after it bounces it sits up. I use the Prince tour 16x19 and get fine topspin on my own. I am a 4.5 player. I have used the Tier one Fire wire and the Gosen Sidewinder. I do like both but the extra spin really makes my ball sit up.

Any good options??

I know you did not ask but if you want power and not spin why go for poly? wouldn't be a hybrid or even full gut/Multi be better?

Prince tour is 16x18, no?

It's a pretty open pattern so to get flatter ball trajectory (which is what it sounds like you actually want, not less spin) you need to:

1 go more western in your grip,
2 switch to stiffer stringbed
3 change racket

If 2 is what you want to try I would recommend trying 15gauge poly like 4Gs at mid-high tension. This will very noticeably reduce launch angle.

If 2 doesn't work out (Tour is very flexy and may not work well with stiffer strings) you can try 3. the 18x20 version.

I am not a regular poly user, but I found Polystar Energy to be powerful and quite soft.

The more western your grip, usually the loopier your trajectory.

Nope, I meant more western. Although associated with loopy trajectory going more western can give you confidence to hit through the ball more and land it deeper, more consistently with very open stringbeds.

Hit through and hit deep is obviously possible with western but I still think going western is not the answer to getting a flatter ball trajectory

Going more western would only make my ball looper. Not looking to change my grip. I may try the 18x20 prince tour or some of the string suggestions above.

Topspin Cyberblue...? I mean, I know the stats would suggest otherwise, but I still have not came across a poly with such pop and plush feel at 56lbs on a Pure Drive GT.

Maybe try one of the multi and poly blended strings like nxt control or TF Duramix. Strands on multi nylon and strands of poly are combined. I tried the old duramix and it plays much livilier than a mono poly but it has some of the control and extra spin of mono poly. If you want power with a hint of poly attributes this might be worth a try.

Gosen Polylon Polyquest is the most "syn gut feeling" poly I've ever tried. It's also elastic and fairly powerful (again...for a poly).

Of the polys I've tried I'd say Polystar Energy, Genesis Black Magic and Topspin Cyber Blue. The Black Magic in 17G felt much more powerful than the 16G for some reason; may have been other reasons but the 17G seems a safer bet.

My question would be, which poly string is very powerful and very spinny? Still searching for this Holy Grail. And yes, I know nat. gut is supposed to be it but I love cows and would rather kill polymers to feed my extra-curricular activities.

Goosen siderwinder is really soft and powerful. Compared to other polls, to get similar control, you have to string 5pounds tighter. It is a twisted string that has smooth feel so it is not very "geared"

Not acting smart, I have been testing strings for a very long time. But hey, I am not telling you what to do for your game - you are the master of that. I just like to help bring ideas, suggestions and comments to help. I beleive that is why we are here. Not to act smart or be sarcastic. Guess if you can't supply the power, your will need a string that supplies more energy and power. My believe is to find a string that works best for your game. The racquet and string that you use should complement your game. It is balance ( control, comfort , power), that is all I am saying. Some people just compensate by trying to buy a better game rather then work at there skills. Useless you fall into the rec or wannbe zone seeking a "game improver" add or maybe you are just a puncher with no full swing . Power does come from the some of everything but some dont use everything.

Topspin strings are good for what you're asking for.

Cyber Flash feels more metallic and is on the soft side of polys. Power is good, but not too much. It responds well to good spin technique.

Cyber Blue is more plastic and muted feeling. It has good pop and the 1.25 has very good tension maintenance, but I prefer the 1.20. Spin is also good for good technique.

They're both under $9 a set and reels come in a 720' length.

I've found really good pop w/o much spin from Pro Supex Big Ace Micro. Soft 19g makes it lively, it maintains tension and playability for a surprisingly long amount of time and it's not shaped so you don't get a lot of spin. I use it in my crosses with Tonic in the mains. Price is right, too. I use an eastern forehand and one hand backhand with a mix of top and slice and kick/slice my serves w/ the occasional flat bomb and it's lasts me quite a while. Best of luck finding the holy grail!

Also.. the current Tourna Big Hitter Silver 17G is much softer than the older gauge and formulation. That string is a steal at $70.00 a reel

I still like Tourna quasi gut armor, not sure if its considered a poly though. Its like a mutlifiliment poly, blends in some nylon.

I think its rated soft but can have that stiff poly feel if you get it too tight. They say its one of the best strings for your elbow, has a red elbow with an x on the package.
