Warrior mode, 6 sets in about 8 hours for Linette.

At any level that’s impressive. Considering this was on clay, it’s even moreso.

Seems like she's the only one who's behind on her match. Everyone other than her is waiting at the QF. She needs to play 2 matches in order for everyone to be at QF by tomorrow. If Fernandez won today, she would've had to play 2 matches as well.

Can't rouse much interest in who wins this Alexandrova-Bencic match. Have it on just in case it gets interesting. Looking forward to Jabeur-Anisimova, though, and hoping Ons gets the win..

Amazing stretch of 4 points. Alex was serving 2-3 15-40. She did 2 aces back to back for deuce. Then she served went up to net with a great approach to BB BH, who blocked it back and stayed home. Alex punched a nice volley but right back at BB, who had stayed home on her backhand side for a beautiful backhand pass. Then at add-out, BB took the net and put a nice defensive backhand volley for a win. Now BB is serving with new balls for a 5-2 lead.

It's Har-Tru court. Harder than red clay, and it plays more like hard court. You can get away with not sliding as much. Supposedly Charleston WTA is the only venue that uses this surface.
