Congrats to Medvedev. Next Gen finally breaks through. He absolutely deserved this. He's going to be a force on hard courts for years

And thank you Novak for this season. It sucks as a fan he couldn't get the calendar slam, but honestly I can't feel too disappointed after the year he's had. It's been absolutely monumental. And I know he's not finished yet

Congrats to med for his first slam, and to do it over djokovic who was one win away from CYGS, is incredible. Nole didn’t show up today at all. Wonder if something was up? But Nole said he was going to leave everything out there today, but didn’t. Oh well, still fantastic season for Nole and congrats to med again for his first slam! First next gen slam winner!

I am glad this will finally be over tomorrow. I am making an incredibly bold prediction: Medvedev will win in 3 straight sets. I have noticed that when Djokovic wants to win too much he loses and implodes. Before you jump all over me please remember that predictions are speculative and we are all entitled to think one player will win over another and to interpret information (stats in this case) to make a case for one outcome over another. I think most people are predicting Djokovic due to the historicity aspect of the occasion. Medvedev has dropped only one set and you can think that doesn't matter but think otherwise. I respect people who predict Djokovic and have real reasons for it other than "he's Djokovic so therefore he will win".

I boldly predicted that Roger Federer would lose to Hubert Hurkacz in 3 straight sets at Wimbledon and I was right about it. If I am wrong about my prediction and your precious Djokovic wins so be it, it's no disgrace to be wrong about a tennis match. There's no reason to get upset about it or to ridicule someone else's prediction.

bookmarked to tell you this was a great prediction

hats off.

This is surreal I tell you.

After Thiem pulled out, I was even thinking of not watching tennis for indefinite period.

This year tennis wise was brutal. Brutal. But I have no regrets anymore.

First Safin, then Youzhny, now Medvedev. Why does always look painful when these guys play.

This is literally what they did to Djokovic at Wimbly and USO almost every year, and you had no comlaint, such hipocrisy from your side.

I've always called the NY crowd obnoxious. But I don't complain one way or the other about their support. You Nole fans do.

Well played Med! Very smart and steady, except for few serves on MP.

Too bad for Nole... Seems like nerves got better of him, lots of misses on shots he normally makes.
AO here we come! Idemo!

What if they did this to Federer, every year from 2007 till today? I know, I know. And you literally never whined when Djokovic had this kind of booing againts him, so why mentioning that now

I could argue here. Travel was much harder back then and players had to play all the tournaments just to make a living. I also think that it would not have been so long if players played the AO in the 70s and 80s.

Rod said that even in 1980 when Borg was trying for slam it was much harder then than just 11 years earlier. It is way harder now
