ATP H2H: 7-3 for Tsitsipas
Clay H2H: 3-0 for Tsitsipas

How do you see this match? Stef is a better clay court player, but Sascha is more successful in Madrid, winning 2 titles. I'm expecting a three-set battle.

I am predicting Zverev because he says this is favorite tournament, he has won it a few times already, and I keep on thinking (erroneously) that he will certainly have a breakthrough and make it to another final soon! (;

Of course it could go either way. That's true of both semis today.

Leaning towards Tsitsipas in three. Zverev has improved compared to his horrible start of the season, but the Greek seems tuned in and has much better potential to expose Z when his level drops and the serve starts to implode. The reason for Zverev winning the second set yesterday had more to do with FAA than anything else.

A rematch of their 2019 encounter. Incidentally it's the only match Z has lost in Madrid since 2017.
Any other clay court, I would pick Tsitsipas. But Madrid is different. Z will have his chances.

Zverev has yet to beat Tsitsipas on clay, but today would be the day if it's going to happen.

There's a reason he's a 2x champion here. When he gets in a service rhythm here, most aren't able to stop him at this altitude.

Golden chance for both to win this Masters. Or are you telling me the last two days have taken nothing out of Carlitos' legs?!

Come on, Stefanos, get it done. Take out Chainz in 2 - no messin' about.

This one is very difficult to predict. Can go either way.

And either should be disposed of by Alcatraz, provided he recovers quickly enough from three very long matches.

I still think Zverev will prevail but will lose in the final. Carlos has won six straight matches versus top ten players and I believe he will make that seven tomorrow. But even if Stefanos prevails today I still think Carlos will win tomorrow.

Pegula Jabeur, playing the least interesting WTA final in history, are gonna finish in 5 hours. It's gonna be a typical "scare to win scared to lose" marathon slugfest.

Citybus and Zverev won't start before midnight.

Alcatraz needs this 2nd semis to go the distance.

Just wish this women's match would end quickly but it won't - they never do! I want to know who Carlos will play tomorrow! :)

Wanna see a Zalcaraz final, and then a potential Medveraz matchup at RG.
Medvaraz is not a top shelf clay matchup; it will be a rout if it happens at RG. Since the surgery he hasn’t hit a ball during clay season and isn’t in the Rome draw. How could a decent form be expected on his least preferred surface with zero prep?

Well I just wanna see a Medveraz match this year at big stage. Med is already barred from WC, and I doubt him will be allowed to play USO...

Why would Med be barred from USO? So far there’s no sanctions against dozens of Russian athletes competing in the NHL. The USO, unlike Wimbledon, is played at a public facility and run by the USTA so there’s no authority to ban Russian/Belarusian athletes. If there was a move to block their participation they would have been banned at IW/Miami.

Do people forget so quickly that Carlos had to play two matches in one day TWICE in Barcelona? The late start of the match is what it is. I do wish this match would end, get through the trophy presentation, and get the second semi started soon! I really want to know who Carlos will play (defeat? I hope!) tomorrow! :)

You are so disingenuous! Everybody was affected by rains in Barcelona. It’s really not the same.
Here it’s just poor scheduling. There’s really no excuse for this nonsense. The other semi could have been easily moved to another court. Or the final should have started before the men’s semi.
Don’t let your bandwagonning blind you from unjust scheduling.

What in the world does that have to do with anything? So did his opponent by the way, and that was in fact due to circumstances outside of anyone's control. This situation, on the other hand, could easily have been prevented. Plus, Rats has shown that he can play a 4-hour marathon and be hopping around like a cricket an hour later. He's got enough power coursing through his muscles, he doesn't need the schedule to be juiced too!

I think they should have had the women's final before the first men's semi, certainly. But they are always going to play these big matches, finals and semis, on their main court. My point had more to do with someone posting about how they might have to play two matches in the same day which has happened very recently.

Such awkward scheduling, putting the women's final in between the men's semis.

Maybe they were trying to avoid an empty stadium for the women's match? Were all three matches today on separate tickets?

Just be thankful there was a 6-0 and 6-2 set. That match could have gone on for an hour more easily.
I am talking about fitness.

It'll be easier for him if his opponent is tired as well.

Agree. Yes, Carlitos is youNG, but he played a physical match vs. Norrie and two oshycisl, emotional matches vs. Djokodal. In almost every other scenario you expect a let down since these two matches were like actual finals. Something tells me this guy is different though. But it’s been months and months since he had a bad match.
