Today’s early schedule is not strong. Elena v. Noskova on Lenglen will get most of the eyeballs.

I think Noskova has a shot. Rybakina has easily the toughest 2nd rd of the big three, and probably 3rd rd as well (if Martic gets there).

Depressing match to watch to be honest. Both players look like suffering from constipation or something.

Wow......Madison Keys - spraying again on BP - and broken again. Kayla Day is up a break in the third and final set between these two American ladies.

Edit - now 65 UFE's.......goodness gracious.

Madison Keys is honestly the biggest joke in women's tennis. :-D

At least Pliskova managed to get to #1 and made 2 slam finals (forcing 3 sets in both) and won two WTA1000 titles and 16 titles all up. Keys is the biggest embarrassment.

Keys does her best with the limited range she has. She's never claimed to be the next no 1.
Nobody claims to be the next no 1. Keys showed all the potential years ago to be the next Davenport and win a few slams (with Lindsay as her coach) but she has shown herself to be a pathetic joke of a player. I don't know if i've seen a female player hit 70+ unforced errors in a match but I just saw it. She is a joke. She doesn't have limited range. If she had a tennis brain she'd be a slam champion. Ostapenko did it. Keys was 2 sets away in a slam final but got bagelled by Sloane Stephens.

I cannot believe i'm posting these stats for a B03 match but wait for it.

Keys:
43 winners
72 unforced errors. Yes SEVENTY unforced errors.

Caroline Wozniaki made a good illustrative point here: you only need 48 points to win a match......that's just giving away more than a match and a half worth of points. Tough to overcome that without some incredible serves or winners.

I think you're overestimating Keys' natural ability somewhat. She could probably have done better 'with a brain' so to speak, maybe even pinched a slam on a fast surface. She can't rally with the elite players in the sport though. Comparing her with Davenport is fanciful. For me, Ostapenko is a much bigger waste of raw materials, even with one slam in her pocket.

Nervous for Mirra.
She hasn't experienced this yet: tricky French player in good form + hostile French crowd (probably the worst in the world).

The place hasn’t filled up yet so fingers crossed it won’t and she’ll be out of reach before it does and they have a chance to give her grief. So far it doesn’t look like Parry is capable of even getting the crowd into it anyway.

Crowd trying so hard to work Parry into this but Andreeva has looked so good.

But, triple break back points for the French WC.

Casper Ruud survives a small scare against the qualifier Zeppieri and wins in 4 sets.

Into the 3R where he'll face the winner of qualifier Tirante/Zhang Zhizhen.

He really does have a good draw.
