IMO players should be allowed to do that if there is reasonable proof behind the claim, IE it is visably raining. The reason i say that is because i remember the French open last year where they forced players to play in much heavier rain because it was clay and it was a joke and insulting to the players. I know it seems like gamesmanship (and it is) but rain CAN cause slips and affect you and at the end of the day, you dont wannna risk any injury that can cost your livelyhood. Especially for a player like Evans.
