I want to see a rematch of Delpo/Thiem. Sorry Coric but that one deserves a part 2.
ETA: oh does Delpo get Raonic actually? I thought it was Thiem. Never mind then.
Yeah I realized after writing that I got mixed up about the draw. Revenge match will have to wait until next yearThiem would be waiting for him in the SF but somehow I have a feeling that you wouldnt like that scenario
we all want the same thingI want to see a rematch of Delpo/Thiem.
Let's hope that wanting something and having it happen are for once the same thing. Vamos!!!we all want the same thing
I like that Coric played a flat ball striker in 3R and handled him easily in preparation for Delpo. He will have to be as equally sharp to deal with the extra power gear the Argentine possesses but it's not out of the realm of probability to think he can rise to the occasion and that could get a rise out of @Meles and the NextGen Fan Brigade.

No idea for this match, but Borna has the physicality to win a slam and good record versus both Nadal and Thiem.I like that Coric played a flat ball striker in 3R and handled him easily in preparation for Delpo. You would agree Meds is big, flat power but not quite to the intensity of Delpo's lasers? I think that match experience from both TRS and 3R makes Coric less of an underdog than the books have set. This will go long into a fourth, if not all the way to a long fifth set. Straight up, I would not take Coric but at the line I'm seeing (1.28 - 3.85) I'm on that.No idea for this match, but Borna has the physicality to win a slam and good record versus both Nadal and Thiem.
Ha ha Vive. Still the funniestwe all want the same thing
I've not really thought about this first time match between the two. Coric likes to bulldoze on his serve games with aggressive first strikes more so than big, big serves. I'd suspect Delpo is good enough to disrupt the Coric serve games some. I'd say Delpo's first serve is big enough to have success with Coric. Delpo's level has been very solid at US Open and my gut from the glimpses of Borna is that he's very average. Expecting Delpo to win this in 3, but his lack of results this Summer gives one pause. You would agree Meds is big, flat power but not quite to the intensity of Delpo's lasers? I prefer having them both in the final. After that, it is up to either of them to sweep me off my feet (I will consider Djoko the favorite since he's the GOAT )Do you prefer Nadal or Djokovic to win the title (now that KG is out)?
That explains the Shiny Sloane Stephens Syndrome from earlier.Supposedly very humid conditions tonight according to BG...
It just showed it at 71%.....
Delpo's drive backhand has looked strong and solid all tournament though, and now he's employing a bit more slice as another tactical option for this Coric match.Coric looks like he go all night and all day long to Delpo's backhand. Just has to return some to get into this match.
Medvedev's low balls did nothing to Coric and Delpo's slice backhand appears to be something Borna might handle well.I like that Coric played a flat ball striker in 3R and handled him easily in preparation for Delpo. He's only got so many two handers per match so he's going to have to slice like crazy I'd say for this one. His left wrist was just acting up a month ago.Delpo's drive backhand has looked strong and solid all tournament though, and now he's employing a bit more slice as another tactical option for this Coric match.
What do you mean choking? lol...come on Borna, stop choking.
Borna chokes and this is a big court and big atmosphere. Huge stadium and players enter in dark; pretty intimidating first match on Ashe. What do you mean choking? lol...
At this point I don't believe if he's being Del Possum or he's really injured. 4-1 Delpo up.Trainer called for Delpo.
Reminds me of someoneAt this point I don't believe if he's being Del Possum or he's really injured. 4-1 Delpo up.
Classic Del Possum, start making the backhand corner shot get tighter and tighter. Borna needs to keep him honest.Amazing from Delpo off the forehand side, Borna was soaking up that pace well and sending it back with great depth, but Delpo delivering with the inside in.
Forces the error, consolidates for 4-1.
Didn't see it, why was he called?Trainer called for Delpo.
