A grim day it is today. Bagy fulfills the all too common proclamation that players scoring huge upsets in the end only lose to crappier players. (guess you can say sh*ttier without censor, yes mods I edited)

NOOOOOOOOO - I could not have seen this coming. Well done marcos on a great tournament but maybe he celebrated a little too hard last nite! :) Staying up to watch melzer beat roddick now

Edit: interviewer asked robredo what happened in the second set and he said "its personal"?

how disappointing. baghdatis had so many bp opportunities in the 3rd set. still fun watching the end, how he once again fought off 3 mps. not enough though. :(

Melzer-Roddick will be a pretty boring match. Jurgen is like 0-1234123 against Roddick... he barely even wins sets.

Almagro-Murray will probably be better. They are 1-1, although Murray has the last win.

I reeeeeeally hope they only show the important points in the Wozniaki match. She's playing the only woman in the world with a more boring game style.

how did Baggie beat the #1 and lose to a pusher named Robredo ?????????????

If I beat Roger I wouldn't expect to be able to do anything the next day but lie there.

And I wouldn't dis Tommy. He fought back from a second set bagel to take that match in three, and he won with an ace. It was really nice tennis.

We'll see. Too many people underestimate Jurgen Melzer

Not me. I backed him to beat Nalbandian. This is Andy Roddick here though, he barely drops serve unless the player plays an amazing game and always threatens a break. He wins more tie breaks than he loses as well... so all in all Melzer has to play his best and hope Roddick misses first serves.

Not happening....

Big deal. Those bets were fairly predictable. Yes, even the Ljubicic one. I guarantee Melzer won't even scrape a set...

quoted for future reference

melz is wearing green ... so what if he's austrian ... he might get l-u-c-k-y ......... after all, jurgen's been playing well lately

No lo creo. Lo hizo ganar el partido. ¿Te lo perdiste?

Estaba hablando del punto de ventaja de Robredo, donde el pensó que tenia el partido, pero el referí dijo que la pelota de Baghdatis estuvo adentro.

Gotta love the Mac spell check. <3

Thank you, princess -- both for your stats here and your nice note before.

(When the **** are Andy M. and Nico going to play? One in the California morning? I'm reaallly tiiiired ...)

you're most welcome! :)

Hard to tell, of course. It's now 7:50 pm in California, and they've just completed the third game in 10 minutes might be ready for Andy Murray around 9 pm if they keep up this pace ....... if it turns into an extended rally slugfest . . . it's anybody's guess if they go 3 sets..., which could happen if roddick does his usual passive thing

Mmmph. You all are going to have to tell me what happens, then -- whether Nico will keep up his new streak or whether we might be looking at another Andy-Andy classic ...

Oh, and nevermind the fact that Del Potro grabbed his crotch and flashed his undershorts after just about every point last summer, and probably still does it.

This tiebreaker is so enormously important for Melzer. If he doesn't break win this, he will lose the next one without winning more than three games.

What? You said he wouldn't get a sniff of a set, 7-6 and one mini-break seems pretty close to me. Stop being patronising, this is a close match and cud still go either way

Melzer is actually playing pretty well judging from the 1st set statistics, but it was Roddick who was able to deliver on the crucial points. The shot selection from Melzer after the minibreak in the tiebreaker was awful.

Now I hope Roddick can win this, since Djoko and Baggy are out already.....
