Not this version of Federer. Any decent player who could keep the ball in would have beaten Federer today. He just didn't have any rhythm with his ground strokes and there was nothing he could do other than keep serving and holding and hoping to sneak out a win in TBs.

Honestly, it's impossible to judge how good HH's form is now based on this one match. All he had to do was to make Rogi play one more shot to make him commit errors. Fed didn't have any groundies at all today. Credit to HH though for holding his nerves and executing his game plan perfectly.

I don’t see it. He should be losing it right now. His game has gotten efficient. His serve has gotten better and better and his mental strength is what puts him over the edge. We shall see.

A loss that hurts for Fed, but I think he realized today he wasn't in enough shape or form to give himself a chance for the title. This was the worst Fed I've seen in a very long time today. Looked like he gave up. I hope he can still find motivation to continue, cause if he can be injury free and train properly and get himself matches I see one more slam in him and other nice trophies for him. He has that 109 titles record in sight too. He still made it to final 8 with barely any prep. He has the tools still and plenty of things to fight for.

I'd rather say lack of match practice deprived him today. I saw a lot of positive signs on his physical conditions. Unless he got injured again, he will come back strong and be a genuine contender at any tournaments again after competing in 5-6 tournaments.

Everything about that match was irritating. He made some of the silliest UEs you will see . He gave the match away when he blew that second set. That was his set and he gave it away on a silver platter . I have seen those mental breakdowns by Federer often too many times.
