First time I've seen Grabher. Not remotely impressed.
Neither am I (first time seeing her).
But then Coco's playing isn't really impressive either.

I'll take Mirra over either of these two in the next round.

Speaking about Grabher. Are any of you here familiar with the Grabher licence
plate scandal in Canada?

A guy had his 30 year old licence plate pulled because one Canadian complained about it!

Oh, brother. Guess the guys lucky authority's didn’t mandate he change his last name.

Bibi should have absolutely no problems with Navarro tomorrow.
Should be a cakewalk compared to Vika.
Going exactly as I predicted.
Should be a straight set win for Bibi absent an injury
or some catastrophic and catalyzing event. ;)

Her next round match though will be much tougher against
Tsurenko!

Nobody claims to be the next no 1. Keys showed all the potential years ago to be the next Davenport and win a few slams (with Lindsay as her coach) but she has shown herself to be a pathetic joke of a player. I don't know if i've seen a female player hit 70+ unforced errors in a match but I just saw it. She is a joke. She doesn't have limited range. If she had a tennis brain she'd be a slam champion. Ostapenko did it. Keys was 2 sets away in a slam final but got bagelled by Sloane Stephens.
She's a "pathetic joke?" There's rarely a standard for anyone winning a major. Many fans--myself included--have been caught up in putting WTA players on a timer, but when and how a player can put together the right formula is not known. Calling her a joke is beyond harsh.

Again I miss almost every women's match because RG will only put the men on at night. I saw most of Coco's at least.

You didn’t miss much buddy. Coco wasn’t impressive, JG was even worse. She has an absolutely weird service motion, and she keeps flipping the ball short into Coco’s BH, which is world class. Roughly 50% to BH, 21% middle and not a lot to Coco’s weak side FH.

Ons Jabeur is an absolute enigma. She can lose a point by casually block a ball back into the net or to the doubles ally, then the very next shot she’d put a gorgeous drop shot off the serve 2 foot beyond the net. Her otherworldly amazing talents compensate for the cavalier attitude, they would bail her out of many matches, but will keep her from absolute dominance.

She can't have one without the other I don't think.

I was wondering when will someone mention this. Her surname reminded me of the infamous Trump quote :)

Peyton got returned to sender. And DasKa is FAR from dominant.

Must have been 6 or 7 service games (just about all of them) where she had game point or 30-0 and just couldn't finish them off......Kasatkina smartly just kept getting the ball back occasionally switching sides and let Stearns miss.

Now, how will Pegula do?

Kasatkina had nearly 100 % of her first serves in. That‘s quite insane, this Iga-like scoreline is also not that one expects from her.

I know it's singles but interesting that it's one half of the 2nd seeds in doubles (Pegula) against one half of the 3rd seeds in doubles (Mertens)

And Mertens gets the break in the 2nd.

Up 6-1 4-3. Vamos Elise!

I'm not surprised Pegula is struggling. What she does best is be consistent, hang in points, don't do too much and wait for the opponents error and that's also what Mertens is very good at. In this match, Jessie is just the one hitting the errors too much earlier than Elise.

I know matches have started but just wanted to post the 3R lineup:

(1) Swiatek v Xin Wang
Andreescu v Tsurenko
Schmiedlova v (Q) Day
(Q) Andreeva v (6) Gauff

(4) Rybakina v (PR) Sorribes Tormo
(23) Alexandrova v (14) Haddad Maia
Cocciaretto v Pera
(Q) Danilovic v (7) Jabeur

Muchova v (27) Begu
(Q) Tauson v (LL) Avanesyan
(PR) Pavlyuchenkova v (24) Potapova
(28) Mertens v (3) Pegula

Blinkova v (PR) Svitolina
Stearns v (9) Kasatkina
Stephens v Putintseva
Rakhimova v (2) Sabalenka

Just 12 seeds. Although 7 of the top 10 seeds still alive.
3 players with a Protected Ranking (now that is rare)
4 qualifiers
1 lucky loser

5 slam champs, 3 more slam runner ups.

Elise just always so consistent, especially at the slams. Has been seeded at every slam since her breakthrough at the 2018 Australian Open where she made the SF.

My post below from the AO earlier this year just sums up my love for her.

Mertens takes the opener 6-4.

I love Elise. She's just consistent. She's not ever going to win a singles slam but you can trust she'll make the 2nd week of a slam a few times a year, have good results, nab a title a year at least, make some QF's and SF's at large tournaments. Consistent top 20 player.

Sabalenka cruising now.

Up 6-2 2-0.

Looks like she'll break her RG 3R streak and make the 2nd week for the first time in her career.
