the only decline I see in his power, Novak basically kills you with consistency, like a much better version of Hewitt.
He had more power in the 2011-2016 period

But, the rest of his game is just as good as back then, and in some aspects better, he serves better now

Just stop. This novak is no way better than novak from before.

racking up title defenses against a USELESS nextgen
Wlad good one :-D

I was thinking about about how both are so frustrating to be up against and force the opposition to fall apart.

As I said in op. This is the final for Djokovic. I knew Sinner would be his toughest opponent.

Djokovic wins here he wins the title but most likely he'll lost in 4.

People don't forget Tsitsipas was 2 sets to love up int he FO final and he found a way to lose that match....Never underestimate the mental giants that are next gen

Djokovic playing terribly now. Gifting so many points. Drop shots are NOT the way to go if you don't set them up well... He is losing this set unless he changes something soon. 4:1, break point for 5:1 and you lose the set..

Novak is so stubborn with that damn drop shot and it cost him so much. His serve is having shades of 2009-2010.

Great play from Sinner but poor from Djokovic. Drop shot attempts have gotten him in serious trouble this set. I don't understand why we went off script when everything was going fine.
Cld be try exploit Sinner poor movement?

Only his ninth GS match on grass

No it isn’t. Go back and watch Fed from the Sunshine Double and especially Wimbledon ‘17 since that’s what’s relevant here. Absolutely no contest.
You’re right but that was a bit of a purple patch from the baseline and not something Fed was able to replicate in his previous or future seasons.
