So now this loss for Nadal does not count because he retired and was insjured. The same way as the match against Cilic does not count..the same way as the match against Wa-wa or numerous other players..while Fed's needs to retire because he was trying to avoid Djokovic..ha ha..

Its sad for Nadal & his good fans for the injury ...him grinding himself to death in his last 3 matches didn't help, I'm sure.

Commiserations to the good Nadal fans. Icwanted Delpo to win, but not like this. Injury is a horrible way to lose.

Let's hope he will recover and end this season on a high note.

Nadal retires! What a shame! Delpo way to good! Rafa looks like a boxer with too many fights!

Could be the moment where Fedal looks done but we said it before! However, they both look out of shape again!

wow..unfortunate that it had to end this way. I hope rafa can get better.

hearty congrats to del potro for making another uso final. hard to believe that the last and only time he did was back in 2009 when he won his only slam.

Anyways congrats to JMDP on only his 2nd slam final (jeez !). :)
Come on, go and get that 2nd slam final on Sunday vs either Djoko/Nishi.

Ben Rothenberg is licking his chops on twitter...
"See what 5 sets does to a player..." blah blah blah

As a big fan of Nadal, I am so happy for DelPotro. How amazing would it be if he wins his second USOpen title 9 years after he wins his first.

Few here listened to reason before the match began. He had run far more in less than 4 full matches than he did in seven matches last year.

The fork was stuck in him before he walked on the court.

The reason why so few listened is because we’re used to seeing him run through brick walls and being fine the next day. Not this time sadly.

So basically... he had nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing this match?

Wonder if Nadal has ever heard of Sun Tzu.

Nadal has come back from bad knees 50 times in his career. Lol. He is going to win more than 1 more RG. He will recover from this and come back.
he can win RG till the day he dies, but he has to change his playstyle on HC unless he gets another 2017 USO road.

At least its a real injury. Not some fake crap like It was too humid for me, I don't live in Brisbane...

Fed was obviously suffering. Even those who hate him have to admit they’ve never seen him sweat so much. He wasn’t even able to make it to the locker room after the match but he didn’t retire. He played until the end and the end came in a tiebreak so if you’re going to criticize Fed for “fake crap” at least know what you’re talking about.

Sad and unexpected. I thought he would be tired but didn't know his injury would be too bad to compete. Get better Rafa and come back strong soon.

The signs were there at the Khachanov match. I wonder how much painkillers he’s been taking since then.

Nadal has retired in 2/4 Slams citing injury this year. I wonder if he really did it both times if he was in winning position.

Winning position vs the best players in the world while injured.

Yeah ok, hopefully you can see how much of an idiot you are now, but I doubt it.
