It will be interesting to see how Gauff's career is managed. They just said that all she can play in the next few months is Indian Wells and Fed Cup. That might be a good thing. Once she becomes fully eligible is she going to play as much as possible right away?

When does she become eligible?

She can play 12 tournaments as a 15 year old (10 is the norm plus two more because she's performed well) and she only one left, I think

Once she turns 16, there's still restrictions, but she has a whole new slate, plus the limit is higher.

Man, Kenin has such a boring personality. Can't root for her. Wanted Coco to win but seems she runs out of gas after emotional wins.

Ya I would think Indian wells then.

What immutable characteristic did I disparage John Millman for in that thread?

An immutable characteristic is any sort of physical attribute which is perceived as being unchangeable, entrenched and innate.

"the open mouth chewing" , "the goofy arrogant smile"

You are making fun of him based on his long-entrenched mannerisms and his appearance.

mhm okay. Personally I don't condone discrimination based on immutable characteristics such as age, but hey, you do you.

It explains why you can't see the insane Gauf hype and coverage that is ruining tennis media.
Totally agree with the crazy amount of hype over Gauf. The way Chris Evert has been talking about her makes you think she is the second coming of Jesus. When she is playing well the American commentators are fawning/drooling all over her “amazing skills” and having “every tool in the kit”. When she gets outplayed it’s her “lack of experience”, but very little credit given to Kenin and her great groundstrokes except that she is “playing very steady”. I think Gauf will be a very good player but I would hate to see another 20 years where American tennis tc coverage is so biased the way it has been for the Williams sisters for the last 20 years.

Who was the Greek female player from years ago? She had some real game and a few moments, but really never panned out into a big star. Watching Sakkari made me think about past Greek players.
Eleni Daniilidou? Top 15 player for singles. Handful of WTA singles titles and a few doubles titles. 3R finish for RG singles. Best singles finish for other slam singles = 4R.

For WTA doubs she reached QF at 1 or more slam events. Reached Finals at AO (2003?) for MxD.

Riske’s forehand may be ugly but that’s actually helpful. You can’t really tell which direction she’s going to go.

I have nothing against Coco. I think she will be a threat in the coming years, but right now, she is still developing. I can't watch her matches with the American commentators, it's just ridiculous how much they hype her up. They are always talking her up and talking down her opponents. That's the part that truly annoys me. Never any credit given to her opponents. I get it, she's 15, has a title under her belt and made it to the 4th round of a slam. Clearly, she has potential to become a great player and win many big titles, but can't we wait until that actually happens?
