Would love to see Hurkacz back up his Shanghai victory here, but in reality he must surely be knackered. None of the names really inspires confidence but I'll go with Zverev who - Shanghai notwithstanding - has been playing consistently better as the year went on.

Is this played in the same stadium as the Tokyo Olympic Games 2021?
If yes, I expect Zverev to back up his win. He was unplayable on this surface back then. He was gassed in Shanghaï, I think he will be fresher there.

Lol Z already down an early break to Thompson. Kinda sad considering his biggest ever triumph was in Japan. Doesn’t look into it.

More than likely he’ll go down as the best Austrian player of all time

Norrie, Khachanov and Zverev all out in the first round. Etcheverry just lost to the world No 215 and Shelton wins in a final TB against Taro Daniel. Those two went to 5 sets at WB so it seems Taro is a tough match up for Ben.
Schwartzman beats Cerundolo as well, so the surprise losses continue following Shanghai it appears.

Don't know what happened to Tiafoe in that tb, bizarre really, seemed to be cruising at 4-0...
