Damn... off the Rune train, I hop off until his next tournament match...

Felt like there were so many times he could've dictated the point and be more aggressive but chose to just do a higher margin/safe shot and hope ADF would **** it up

rune just misses a bigger forehand, i always said i dont like his take back, its too "lab made" not very natural, sometimes he can crush it, but you can see its not a real reliable weapon which he can dominate players with, he has grerat serve, great backhand, and good complete game, but he needs that killer forehand to be able to dominate more, he has the right mindset also
Yep, Rune is currently one of my top 5 favorite players at the moment, but my coach basically told me the same thing. Basically said that his take-back helps him stay consistent and timing is significantly easier but does not get enough power/spin/speed on the ball as some other players.

And Mouratoglou bites the dust, one more time.

I love it!

So did I.

Maybe is Patrick just volunteering.
Maybe he is step-dad now?

Just watching highlights from matches I didn't get to watch. I actually think this was a good loss if there is such a thing for Rune. He battled, dug deep, but doesn't have to deplete the reservoir before Rome and Rolland Garros. Physically I think he's a year out from a major. Don't know exactly what needs to happen. Maybe he needs to talk to Novak see what is in those special drinks or maybe gluten allergy who knows. Or maybe the kid just needs one thing outside of tennis that interests him. Shrug.

Seems as though the whole tour has drop shot fever. It has even extended to my local club. Players I've hit with for years are all practicing the drop now. I think it is good to break up the monotony and keep players honest.

Doesn't get a lot of attention but khachanov just keeps damn winning. It's insane.

He can crush the forehand at will, but today it just seemed as if he had run out of gas + the wrist injury may have something to do with the lack of power as well.

I would like to see some upsets today: Shevshenko, Cachin, Garin, Zhang and Baez!!!! Let's see if any of them can do it... (de Minaur, Lajovic, Zapata Miralles are my other picks). I absolutely can't stand Tiafoe, so go Cachin go!

Carlos’ abilities are scary good. I’m most impressed with his tactics on court and his quick thinking. Also his willingness to mix it up. Like standing way wide standing in the alley to serve and then wins that point.

Cachin - Tiafoe in another Yonex cameo-fest, this time featuring the best paint job of all three silos, the VCore Pro.

Disappointed Baez couldn't pull through but it was to be expected ):

I hadn't realized that all 8 round of 16 matches are going to be played tomorrow. Just my luck I will be at work during the match I care about the most!

Favorite wins of today: Cachin! and Zapata Miralles!

Just waiting to see if Norrie prevails or if Zhang can get this to a third set decider...

Tragic, but very clutch from Stef. He seemed out of it in terms of language til he suddenly switched on and immediately broke. Its very odd how easy he is to read. Definitely a lot of tension and some shouting towards his box, this relationship really isn't working. I hear from Greeks close to him that perhaps his dad is somewhat emotionally blackmailing him to stay on as coach, but it's hard to tell how accurate that is. I think he must have genuinely broken his record for shanks today, he just won this on sheer will.
