Why, don't you want to see Nadal get a second AO title? :)

Look at Rafa's draw - Retired Youzhny, Challenger Smyzcek, ATP 250 Sela, Choker Anderson, Pigeon Berdych, Injured Murray.

It is USO 2010 and 2013 all over.

Anything other than Novak in the finals will be the biggest travesty in recent history.

Because this match is so boring, I just noticed that Nadal squeaks his shoes right before the server hits the serve...

Must be nice to have unlimited amount of shoes?

Gonn' be a mighty fine final between Nadal and Wawrinka with the 'Man' defending his title in straight sets. Lookin' forward to it.

That started in the last game of the first set, which hasn't been mentioned and is a large contributing factor as to why Anderson lost the game. Suddenly the dynamic changed with the serves coming back and the intimidation factor of Nadal's new return position and what it might mean. If Nadal had just maintained his typical first set return position then Anderson would have probably taken it to the breaker.

Yeah, I agree. Goes to show how smart Rafa is. Also, changing his serves while down those BPs as well.

Rafa breaks again. Thanks aren't looking good for Kev!.....

Injured Murray? You should use being lapdog of Rafael as valid excuse for him.

False, Anderson hitting 2 inside fh errors lost that, not DNadals return. Execution is everything, should be all but automatic at this level. KAnderson must be confident with his volleys as that too was his demise, and continues to be.

That might have something to do with Rafa knowing more about the old guys and how to beat them than he does about the younger guys.

You mean to say Rafa needs to play repeatedly to gain an advantage ?

He is a guy who was very successful as an youngster. Did he play them in his childhood in unaccounted matches ?

The 10-40 ranked players today are a big fat joke. Make tons of money but are worthless compared to the top 10. Never before has there been such a wide gap in the standards.

Never say never. Djokovic could be having a bad day, feeling unwell....anything can happen. Oh, and it is not a given that Djokovic will be in the finals.

Wonderful, Rafa coasts to another title with no form or opposition, while Fedovic get nightmare draws slam after slam.

I don't like Djokovic, and I do like Nadal, but after a while, the above gets very, very tiring.

Has Nadal ever had a tough draw and won?

I agree Kev had two short ball loopers and hit them out on his FH. That was it for him lol.

Yeah it was a smart move especially to do that at such a critical moment in the set. It was a nicely timed tactical ploy by Nadal although Toni gave his graces for the tactic before the game started (the nod to his camp as though to say 'yes yes' was very obvious btw).

Nadal has great clarity of thought on the tennis court, aided or not. He is more clear in his plans and in playing the point and living in the moment than every other player in the world.

When guys like KAndy man are two sets down, you would think they'll shake off their nerves as they have nothing to lose (or loss is guaranteed anyway). But no such thing happens, why is that ? It probably also has to do with Nadal getting more confident and bullying the opponent after owning him in the first two sets.

Good question. Nadal fans will answer it with another memorable image.

I agree on the right courts Nadal is the best tactition out there. The loopy stuff and the babolat is yawn worthy but it does win the points.

I was unaware Novak and Federer were playing nightmare opponents.

Agree with the rest ? Isn't that the truth.

Listen, if Rafa wins good on him. I just hope he doesn't.

The truth falls from his lips, as dung from an elephant.

I will be surprised if you don't give that excuse . I am pretty sure that will pop up instantaneously and all these would be forgotten. What would be mentioned is how he would have spanked Anderson 0,1 and 2 if he were healthy and instead had to win over 5 sets against Smyzcek.

Exactly. You're gonna do nothing.

Any idiot knows that a healthy, in form Nadal would swipe Smyzcek off in straights at the AO.

Don't even try to compare Fed's draw with Rafa's.

Fed played 40 ranked Lu, player on the rebound Bolleli and a recent ATP top 20 Seppi. Kyrgios is better than Anderson and Murray in the QF is way better than Berdych for Rafa.

I am not sure how much to trust Murray.

2014 FO SF when Murray won like 4 games is still fresh in my mind.

Hope he at least puts a decent performance.

6 games to be exact when he was on his best clay form. Murray is not match for Nadal in B05 despite of being younger and having good two hander irrespective of surface. Even if Murray shows some fight, Nadal will grind him out physically.

The real question is has Federer ever had a tough draw and won?

Does anyone find it funny Anderson can hit good insideout bh return on the deuce side, but cant go up the line on the add side?

Nadal would've beat all those guys. He sure as hell wouldn't lose to Seppi like Federer did.

Smyzcek proved to be a tough test for Nadal. It wasn't just because Nadal was feeling unwell. Tim has a very short backswing on both his FH and BH, took the ball early. His BH crosscourt and FH dtl were exceptional. Not an easy match up for a guy like Nadal.

Sela as a third round was easy.
Anderson also a decent 4th round for Nadal. Nadal does well against big servers with limited movement.
Berdych is a dream match up for him and the best QF he could get.

Murray and Djokovic/Wawrinka as SF+F?
Definitely makes it a worthy victory if he goes through them and makes up for the easy 3rd, 4th rounds and QF.
