Really, how is this. Djokovic is clearly in a bad day. Rublev is a top 5 player, 10 years younger who just made it to Shanghai finals.
He shouldn’t let Djokovic off the hook like this.

Djokovic is playing well when he HAS to today. In important moments he has been strong. You ain't just gonna beat him.

To think that you believed you were clever.

You don't seem so clever yourself when all you do is crap on all these players yet Federer was losing left right and center to these guys and in fact against those four guys doesn't have a single winning h2h against either of them.

Rublev winning the first set 7-5 to boot was 40+ payout, Rublev winning in 3 was like 6 to 1.

This is pretty insane now trying to top Dimitrov/City

Well, Djokovic too has lost to guys 16 years younger, so what?

You crap on Fed's guys all the time anyway.

I still don't understand what Medvedev and Sinner are doing, though. Are all these 500 worthy?
Final in Rotterdam, then both get obliterated by Alcaraz in IW.
Final in Beijing, then both out in 1st round in Shanghaï.
Final in Vienna, then out of Paris after 3 days.
There is a pattern here. I doubt a fresh Sinner woud struggle against Lajovic Shelton or McDonald.

ATP500 are not that prestigious at the end of the day. Nobody cares how many times Djokovic won Dubaï/Beijing, Federer Halle/Basel or Nadal in Barcelona. It's meaningless. Nadal's 10+ titles in Rome/Monaco or Fedovic's multiple Sunshine Doubles are much more valuable at the end of their career. 500 are nothing but improved versions of 250, but they're fast forgotten.

I feel a bit sorry for Sinner here. His draws in Beijing and Vienna were harder most of Djokovic's recent Slam wins, he's been playing some outstanding in these 2 tournaments but for what? By winning 500s, he isn't gonna be ranked #1 or #2 anytime soon barring a massive Djokoraz slump. And in the meantime he is still leaving most Slams and M1000 (barring Toronto and Wimbledon) early since March. He and Medvedev looked totally exhausted after Beijing and Vienna, it was obvious they would look bad in Shanghaï and Paris. I hope they learn the lessons next year. Masters1000 draws aren't much toughter than 500, but they award twice more points and 5 times more prestige.

It's on them though and at least part of it I believe are appearance fees along with slightly easier paydays. I mean that is certainly the case comparing say Dubai to Miami where most top players will always play Dubai. The Masters offer the points and thus pay no additional prizes unless Fed was getting some I don't recall.

So with Beijing vs. Shanghai I think that's more murky.

Rublev's BH holding up so well has been the shock that's made this match what it is. Breaking the BH down has been what Djokovic relied on in the past. Not today.

Djokovic is like Houdini this week. Could have lost the last 3 matches and wins them all. Lol.

Sucks for Rublev. Played an excellent match. Had to end Djokovic in that 2nd set because Djokovic played much better off the ground in the 3rd set.

Inevitable.

Honestly Rublev did well to make the second two sets look as close as the score line would suggest. Easily could’ve been 6-3 6-4 affairs.
