Asked about pressure on Chinese junior player winner of USO, Federer ends on France and he's not impressed :

I'm so not used to all these new guys on the block. I want the veterans back - the guys I grew up watching.

So ... I take it you're not one of the fans who complains endlessly about seeing "the same old guys in the later rounds" and "we need some new blood".

I actually admire Diego, a little guy really does his best with what he was given. But on Shanghai, which is or should be the fastest court around, no serve means no joy. In fact he might actually not make it to round 2 as the qualifiers aren't to be taken lightely. I see 5-6 guys that could take The Schwartz to funky town :)

He gave Roger a few fits there in the first round of their match.

Textbook Rafa : "I have already answered this question many times...", a sigh and he just does it all over again as if it was the first time

Thanks a lot! I was actually swimming in there to find out. How did you count them out so fast? For some reason I can only view that site properly on my phone, not iPad and laptop and it's not convenient at all to copy those stats to google sheet and let it do the work.

You can make it list his top percentages first, and then it goes down from there. Just have to click the stat at the top, in this case it's "1stIn"

Less than 5% chance Nadal makes it past both Dimitrov and Cilic. He's still not equipt to handle decent hardcourters. Luckily he managed both US and Beijing without meeting any.
He beat Dimitrov in Beijing. Cilic could be trickier on a fast surface like Shanghai. Still, Rafa has a good chance to make final. More than 5% for sure.

So young you are. ♪Forever young?

My childhood died when Hingis retired. She was my first love. Then Fed and Rafa brought it back...

I wanna be forever young. Do you want to live forever?

That’s surprising considering how Hingis is around Fed’s age. She had a rather short career in comparison! I think the current young guns will keep it exciting after the veterans hang up their racquets. However, I don’t anticipate the excitement to match that of the 2000s-present. That’s a tall order!

I know people are shoeing-in the Fedal final, but I think Del Potro has been the standout in the bottom half so far, and thus the slight favourite to make it over Roger.

WOW. So now I've seen Rafa's worst fh for the year in that 2nd set TB and just then, Roger's worst fh for the year. It wasn't a shank off the frame and it still didn't land anywhere near the court.

Ree-shard tried to be aggressive with the return but he hit it straight to Roger.

He has the talent we've known this for years but his shot selection at times is really puzzling.
