That's fine, no one said she has no business winning titles. She's top 20 for a reason, and I expect a T20 player to win titles. Slam, not so sure about, but we'll see soon enough.
Other than pressure a slam isn't really different for the ladies than almost any other tournament. If she handles the pressure she can win.

Still clueless. I’m not a Kenin fan, but I suggest you read up on her before you spout off with absolutely zero knowledge of what you are talking about. You are embarrassing yourself and you don’t even realize it.

I suggest you save advice for people interested in following it. This isn't my first time watching her, and I'm not too worried about "embarrassing myself" in your eyes at any rate.

And of course you're a hardcore fan. That's why you're freaking out at everyone that's expressed any degree of skepticism about her game.

Someone asked why Evert is now talking up Kenin when she downplayed her during the Gauff match and was talking up Gauff. And now, the panel - Stubbs, BMS, Gilbert, and the anchor are salivating over her.

This is major, major television production - I bet they get notes; talking points. This isn't all just off the cuff.

Unless Simona or Garbine play poorly in the final, do we see Sofia’s game causing any trouble for either of them?

Definitely not, especialy not queen Simona. Such an amazing player and she does everything Kenin does MUCH better than her with a similar game.

Then again Barty could only be in danger even against Kenin's best if she played horribly, and that is what she did (and choked badly on top of that), but Halep is even more of a stretch for her.

Poor skyline. I suggest you try another sport. Perhaps chess. Something less stressful. You are lost in talking tennis.

How lost must you then be, continuing to talk to me anyway...I’d be more worried about your own stress levels because you seem pretty upset. How bad must it get when your girl loses, yikes.

If she beats Halep (which I doubt) it means she is in top form and would have no problem with Kenin.

Yeah against Halep though, Kenin is really hopeless.
If she beats Simona she will be in top form beating Simona. No gurantee she comes into the finals like that. This is the WTA anything can happen.

Muguruza is not like that. Tournaments she is really playing well in, she keeps playing well. Such tournaments are the 2 she won, U.S Open 2016 (which she would have won without question but running into Kvitová's A+ game, and still wins if she pulls out that 2nd set and goes on to win), a few others. If she plays well enough to beat Halep somehow she isn't going to throw in a total stinker in the final and lose to someone like Kenin.

I agree she is still a better match up for Kenin than Halep though. Halep is essentialy just a way better version of Kenin, and won't choke like Barty today even if she winds up playing badly for her she still would beat Kenin.

Kenin hits the ball more flat than Simona. But yea overall I agree with you. The only thing I don't agree is that Kenin has shown over the last 14 months especially that she can beat anyone on any given day.

Agreed on all counts

Really impressed with Garbi's serving this tournament also. Should probably have a slightly bigger serve with her height, but she's hitting good spots all week.

Garbine strikes me as Davenport-ish. Tall, very powerful, but not great feet/movement. Needs to control the court - can't do that much when stretched and can maybe run down one shot, but can't play multi-shot defense like Halep.

Darn....I think that second break point she coulda went cross and had more than enough court to hit into. Halep would have had a hard time getting that back, instead she goes dtl and hits long.
